The coders of SC4 apps mostly use the .NET frameworks and make it impossible to run the applications on other operating systems without using emulators. The QT library by trolltech is a solution to compile the application on different operating systems with the same source and easy to understand. It comes with a large set of C++ commands. It is free to all freeware developers and creates applications that are full integrated into the look and fell of the used operating system. It runs native everywhere because it creates different binaries with the same source. http://www.trolltech.com

I agree with you on the multiplatform issue, but note that much on the 'easy to understand'. I work with it on my everyday job, and it has a long learning curve ( at least for me )

I don't know about other, but simrolle use .NET for SC4Tools to learn .NET, I used python to learn python/wxWidget. and at least my code is plateform independant ( minus directX in SC4Terraformer )

One very good aspect of QT is that is well documented and free for personnal/non profitable work. It is a really good API, but I personnaly want to code with something else from my everyday job 4.gif
