are you using a coal power plant?  that's a major cause of pollution.  dirty industry causes tons air pollution and farms cause staggering water pollution.  If a road is over capacity that will cause a lot of pollution too.  hope this helps.  Good luck!

Ive heard that by placing multiple superpark modds into your game, you can actually roll over from no pollution to very polluted. That may or may not be part of the problem. Some radical modds can do that.

i turned off radical modd and just used 1 superpark.the chart shows no polution but query on houses shows high polution.which is right the chart or the query ?

i still have the green polution sploches on my map

i have the polution without any modds.is it normal to have high polution at a new city that hasen't

    devoleped yet? i just have a few squares started.1 street,2 or 3 indutries starting,4 or 5 houses

and 2 commercial buldings.in simcity original,simcity2000 and simcity 3000 polution was low untill a few industries started.

why does the chart say no polution but query on houses say high polution?

which affects city the chart or querry? is there any way to get rid of polution splotches?

Since you have only 161 resident sims, I'd destroy the city and start all over with a brand new map and NO modds.  Add in the NAM and some of the reporting extras, but avoid drastic game-changers for a while.  You can always add in modds and the eye candy stuff as you go and get better at playing.

I've had best success using windmills for power, plopping a seaport (coastline required), zoning some dirty industry, a little bit of low $ commercial, and a whole bunch of low $ residential.  Put a small grade school and small clinic in the middle of your res area.  Put bus stops on every corner in res & ind areas.  Don't put in fire or police until your sims ask for them, and even then think about it for a few "months."  Put in a water pump somewhere in your com area, but away from both ind & res., and run pipes to everything.  Don't zone $$ or $$$ until your city has reached 20k or more.  Use streets (gray color) for connecting all your zones, and roads (black\asphalt) for a connection to 1 or more of your nearest neighbors.  Play one city for a year or two and then go to a neighbor and start another city there (region play), it helps demand.  I've been holding off on rail, as it is a heck of an expense for the benefit.  Freight from your ind area can go out by truck.  Keep an eye on your RCI demand indicator and add zones and infrastructure as required.  Don't over-zone.  Add in fewer lots than you think you  need.  You can always add in more lots if the demand stays high for several more months, but its a lot harder and more $$ to removce zoning if you have added too much.  I've been able to grow cities of 100,00 fairly quickly this way.

If you do some searching in the forums & omnibus you should be able to find tons of info about playing strategy.

Welcome to ST and have fun!!

try and identify where the pollutionis coming from.....centre in om where you think it's coming from...you could have accidently download an older lot with wacky pollution stats.  the plugin manager skewed the stats when lot makers switch a plopable to a growable  and at the time unless you knew how to reade hex...no one knew, some lots have been known to have stats as high as 1980 tones of garbage a month not to mention the air or water pollution stats  (ong condo largest RES building in the game has has 6 tones per month WE plant burns about 450-500 tones a month) get one of these buildings or several in your city...and bam the city goes to pot...til you identify the lot it may grow again causing it to happen in other cities.

I recomend T Wrecks Stats and value mod, it clears up about 500 buildings of this nature, or the Sc4Tool program or the ireader, both of these do require a bit of reading but will give you the buildings actual stats and allow you to adjust them

and like courgar says , placing multi super garden parks close together or too many in one city will reverse their effects....their so powerful they hit a max and switch into the negatives as they are made from modding the radiation  (hence the green sparkles all over town) also...once placed....you can't  bulldoze them either...if you accitely bulldoze it or the super plaza park, their absence puts the city in the negatives by it's stats

personelly...i wouldn't play with them...unless your more of an advance player....their so  powerful they can cause more problems than their worth, like playing with dynamite, specially when combined with other mods (sort like adding a spark to the dynamite) and can push their stats so high they go into the negatives

they were original more of a test of the upper limits of modding parks with the ireader.

You may want to get rid of the current mods/superparks and try RAH Wat-Air for air and water pollution control. See if that clears it up. I know there was some lot or mod that would actually increase pollution. It was discussed here in the forums and was a major headache. Possibly you have this in your folder. I can't recall what it was, but it was causing a lot of grief. If all else fails, it may be best to wipe out the city while it's still early to avoid problems later on. No way you should be having those kinds of pollution issues with a windmill and 161 people. Good Luck! Please keep us posted and let us know what the cause turns out to be. Oh, and Welcome to Simtropolis, Kd4tkm!

You've got high polution BECAUSE you only have 161 sims. You must have dirty industry bucause you won't see hi-tec (non-polluting industry) until your population is much higher.

You need to get your health and education up, up your population and you're polution will eventually go away.

Hmmm, maybe because of dirty industry, increase population or wealth to get hi-tech, and that should be the solution...
