I am making a video for a history contest, and I need suggestions on video making software. It does not have to be free software. Thanks in advance. 4.gif

Do you have a PC or a Mac? And how much money are you willing to pay?

If money is not an option, I recomend Final Cut Pro (on Mac) or Adobe Premiere Pro (on PC). I've made movies on both, and they are both great linear editors. Final Cut, I know, is a Hollywood standard.

Menotyou: I have a PC. The combined donations from other people in my team equals $60. Do you know anything good for around that price?

ginchael: Thanks! I'll look around to see if anyone has that.

Well, Windows comes with Windows Movie Maker. But if you want something better than that, there is Adobe Premiere Elements 2.0. You can find it as low as 65$, but the places I trust more are around 75 to 80$. So if you can find some more money, that is a good choice.

Edit: Adobe has free 30 day trials of all of the apps it makes, so if you want to try out one of its apps you can.

Well, If you scraped up another $639, you could buy flash 4.gif

Anyway.. Windows Movie Maker is a good choice for free things as menotyou said. If you don't all ready have, you should be able to dig it up on Microsofts website. I think theres a program called Nero on my computer somewhere that came with it. I think it can burn DVDs, which is always a bonus to a good movie...

xiziz: Thanks for the review! 4.gif

Eastwinn: Jeez, why is stuff so expensive these days. 46.gif

And, I've tried Movie Maker. It's useful if you want to make a video frame by frame, and it's simple. But, It lacks good video effects.

Thanks op4! Gotta love those 30 day trials!

I think I'm sticking to Adobe Premier Pro (If I can figure out how to work it) mainly because I found out a neighbor two houses down has it, and let me put it on my computer. I'll look into those 30 day trials If I can't figure out Adobe Premier Pro.
