    Hey people,

Building a real looking city is best I can do and like.

But I have to work with maps and I takes a lot of time to much time I think.

What would be greater then add a layer like google earth that can turn on/off

Making a real city could me much more easier and more fun!!

    Hey Megastad,

Seeing as Google had to take all of those pictures through satellites, Google Earth probably cost millions of dollars to create. Even though it would be an excellent idea, I doubt that Maxis and/or EA Games would go to so much trouble to add this feature into SimCity 5.

Therefore, I think your idea is pretty impossible. 34.gif

    He Ruler of the Sea,

Well it could be done much easier then you think. Always keep in mind that "can't be done is on the craveyard"(so we saw in holland). If that refenence layer is just a jpeg, then you can sreenshot a view in google earth, scale it, and add it to the game. You can also do this with a roadmap if you scan it. In this way there is no story of rights, after all google earth is a free feature.

Google Earth may be a free feature, but it still is owned by Google, free or not. Maxis could probably obtain the rights very easily to the pictures on Google Earth.

However, whichever solution may be easier, as explained in my last post, I doubt EA Games or Maxis would go to such trouble to add anything like this new feature. 20.gif Great idea though. I would appriciate it in the game as much as you would. 1.gif
