May be i'm wrong creating a new post here, but i have an idea about some modding over the SC 2000 (yeah, i just can't play even SC3000), but still I've already tried to open SC2000 dat files with datgen - don't work. So does anyone knows the program wich is necesarry to open SC2000 dat files?

So does anybody know how sc2000 dat files can be open?

First, datgen is designed for Simcity 4, the games are completely different. Second, doesn't SC2000 have that program thing that you can make tilesets with?

I know that datgen was designed for SC4 but i had a hope that.. :} Well it's not. And the program - yes - its SCURK, but i don't even have it. I've searched over the net for free download - there is nothing to get 26.gif May be if someone could give it to me.. Talking about SC2000 modding i mean to modd the roads, railways etc. Not creating new tilesest or something like this. You can see from the pic that the roads an the railway looks different, not like standart SC2000 ones. But right now it's only a Photoshop 26.gif

If I remember correctly, SCURK was included on the CD and when you were installing SC2000 it gave you the option of installing SCURK. Of course I'm talking about the Windows Version, i'm not sure if it was included on the MAC version as well. Wait a minute, didn't the MAC, Windows and DOS version were all included on one CD? Can't remember and I don't know where my CD is.

There's a free SC2K lurking around on the internet somewhere, though its legality is somewhat doubtful.

Try Home of the Underdogs! And if it doesn't, it should be lurking around on the net. Try a bundle from EA.

Wal-Mart often carries "SimMania" packs and such, which I've sometimes seen include SimCity 2000.

    Hello Criquette,

Yes - check out your local stores (or maybe even online - like Amazon.com) for the "SimCity 2000 Special Edtion" CD.

In U.S.A. should be under $10 (plus sales tax and/or shipping charges).

Please note, that Simcity2000 don't uses true-color graphics. AFAIK it has a palette of 16 colors only. The possibilities are limited to replace the graphics with better ones.

SimMania with SC3000 is $20 at Target, and you can't use SCURK for roads, or else I would have made them a double yellow line.

*sounds like a salesman* Buy Streets of SimCity on eBay (for $5.00) ---it comes with the SCURK. Plus, you get to race around the cities you made! So now you can get what you want, and then something else extra for $5.00! Whooo! (I hope I didn't break any rules on SimTropolis by suggesting someone to buy something)
