Lost textures, Random Questions

I have a couple questions regarding gameplay... Not sure if this is in the right place, but whatever.

When i make a landfill, a No Car zot shows up above the zoned area. It doesn't fill up, and i connect roads, streets, avenues, etc. Everything. So, right now I'm using incinerators to burn up my trash. Any suggestions?

Also, gazebos, park textures, plaza/playground textures from the default Maxis parks don't show. Do I have to put my graphics settings to high for them to show? I recently downloaded the Marrast footways, and those are missing the gazebos too. I checked the readme, but it didn't list any dependencies.

Are there any Roadtop Mass Transit lots that don't cause a No Car Zot? Also, is it possible to neighbor connect split avenues / highways? Connect GLR?

Is it possible to create a huge suburban mall, like 18x18? And can you use ped malls to replace roads, like point zones to them without a no car zot showing?

Thanks A LOT to anyone who answers this 9.gif

Yes, you need to put your graphical setting for city details at least into medium for the gazebo to show up.

No, all RTMT's have the same "problem". Split avenues can't cross city borders. You need to use one-way roads for the crossings.

It is possible. The biggest one available should be SimGoober's Suburban Mall, https://www.simtropolis.com/stex/index.cfm?page=1&keyword=suburban%20mall&type=all, which is an 18x11 sized lot. He's also made some super centers, https://www.simtropolis.com/stex/index.cfm?page=1&keyword=super%20center&type=all with a size of 18x6 and 18x7.

Ped malls can be used for commercial and industrial lots, but not for residential ones. Actually I ususally build my cities so that sims have to take the subway to a pedmall and walk from there to work.

EDIT: I'll let someone else answer your first question, since I always turn my waste into energy 2.gif

    Woot! Thanks RippleJet =D.

However, gazebos / parks / playgrounds still only show a concrete or grass tile. I tried replopping them too. Plazas now show everything, however. Any suggestions?

And, for some reason, I can't seem to make one-way neighbor connections. Are GLR connections avaliable?

as far as garbage and the no road zots are concerned i know how to fix this.

garbage/landfills need some sort of populace in order to work. what i do is i put a small 6x6 patch of med ind. in the corner and then let it develop

then zone your garbage. make them no bigger than 6x6 otherwise u run into a problem of them being too big to be used.

Quite correctly, lolebagels, you can't make neighbour connection using one-way roads. You need to make the crossing with avenues (or normal roads)... Sometimes I say things even if I should know they are incorrect... 22.gif

GLR's can't cross borders either. You need to change it into ELR before crossing. Here's how to make the transition from GLR to ELR: https://www.simtropolis.com/stex/index.cfm?page=1&keyword=rail%202%20elevated&type=all

If, after setting the graphics to high and after restarting the game, you still don't see the gazebos... hmmm... you shouldn't  need to replop anything. Strange if you still don't see them 42.gif
