I have installed Simcity 4 Deluxe again on my computer, and it runs WAAY slower than I remember it now. I installed it with a scratched up CD, and I have a Computer that can run it well

    Radeon 9800 pro
    640 RAM
    2.8 GHz

It has always worked well and quickly, now it has huge FPS drops when over cities...I can turn down settings, but it still doesn't do much, how can I fix this? Any way to fix up a scratched disk? I've tried cleaning it many times, nothing.

It is not your disk.  The game only checks to see if you have the play disk, and it is recognized then not used again.

What is your present config?  I assume if you started playing again you got a new box.

yea i was gonna say the same thing NOB. its definitley not your disk. i do know, that the ATI's GFX cards have driver bugs in them and don't play well with the game. also set all the fancy stuff such as AA, AF to application select.

640mb RAM isnt that much, but better than some. this could also be the issue. make sure to set your virtual memory properly. it should be double your ram size or more if u can spare it(max 4096mb)
