Ive been working on my region for a while now... its a bit green and flat and boring but its a work in progress lol

tierradelaoscuridad1162yx4.jpg

err..it's mostly suburb-ish... I'm working up to med & high density for a downtown, maybe somewhere in the middle of the region.

so anyway... here is my first city and update...

auroracopyri8.jpg

It's not completely developed yet - I would work on it more but my computer's getting very laggy on anything except small city tiles, lol.

Twiggy:

The thing I love the most about this CJ, is the feeling. I like how you have taken all the shots at eveing or night. I am impressed by how un-griddish this is. You really know the meaing of realism.

Just a quick request: Those BATs on the first picture, what are they? They look like a really cool additon to my cities.

Keep up the absolutley brilliant work Twiggs,

The city is breath taking, I can't wait to go back to playing sim city. I forgot how much fun you can have by making a beautiful city. Keep up the amazing work. Oh by the way, I take spanish in high school right now and read the title. Why did you name it "Land of the Dark"

I wouldn't call it suburbia. I think "Inner City" describes your medium-density European-flavored sprawl well.

As with Owen, I like the ungriddy nature of your city development and your very liberal use of parking lots. It is a personal hatred of mine to see cities where there's very few places to park - unless everyone's going to go by bus or subway or foot, you've got to have parking somewhere. And in that you have succeeded.

I will be on the lookout for the next update.

Crazychickensc12:  First comment, lol.   Yeah actually one of the main reasons I joined st was to do a cj.... I guess I just now got around to it lol.  Thanks for stopping by 4.gif

Schulmanator:  Thank you- I plan to try to fill the whole region. it might take a while though, lol

jacqulina: Yes, I plan to do a bit of terraforming as I go along, not much though, as I'm not very good at it.  I love trees, they're amazing lol 5.gif

edipo_rey: I'm glad you like the atmosphere, I would write more about my pics, but sometimes I just don't have much to say, lol.

-M-:  Thanks 4.gif  I do love lots of greenery in cities.

Simen: thankies 43.gif i'm glad you stopped by

gurrgkud: Hey! Thanks for looking, Im glad to see you here

mayormommy: Thanks for coming by, I really appreciate it - I developed some of the middle of Aurora, but left a corner of park intact.  I plan to show it in Update 3....

owenluby: thanks, I like that time of the evening in sc4 where it's like kinda red, that's my favorite time to take pics. 4.gif  I despise grids if you cant tell 3.gif lol.  Here are the BATs, in order from left to right:

BLaM Little Strip Mall Pack One

    Trend Fashions

    Richland Building

FavreKev04: thank you! I take Spanish 2, i dunno, I was just flipping through my vocab book and saw it was like words for things in the earth, and tierra de la oscuridad just sounded kinda ominous lol and I liked it.

GaBoR: Hey good to see you!! Whatever happened to your cj, lol?? It was so beautiful 5.gif  well rl is a harsh mistress as your sig says so I guess that answers my question 3.gif  Anyway, im glad you like it, that was Simgoober's hospital I think you were referring to, here it is on the Stex

pickled_pig: I wasn't sure what to call my random cities lol. thank you, I admire European cities and wanted mine to have a more European feel rather than what i'm used to. Yes one day I was playing sc4 and realized there were no big parking lots! it seems they missed sth very important lol, so I went to the stex and downloaded some.  Thank you, I hope to see you again 4.gif

panthersimcity4: lol would you really, thanks 4.gif

luker91: luke!!!! hey I havent seen you in a while!  thank you for commenting, it means alot considering how much I admired your own amazing cj43.gif

salut221: thanks for stopping by- Im glad you liked it !

hamsterTK: lol, I try, Im no master though 3.gif

jrhnemo: thanks, i'll need it lol

Err... Update two tomorrow, I don't have time to upload the piccies atm, but I will tomorrow, I hope to see you then 4.gif

Today i'll focus on the very first little city I made in this region... well actually i imported it from another region but whatever lol.  It is called Pompous, the proud city.

Yeah, I used simgoober's hospital in this city too... (I happen to like it lol) Enjoy

To show you where it is:

It is not exciting but it is definitely a pleasant little town. Looks like a great place to settle down.

This looks a but more suburban...

As for your quest to have realistic parking lots - have you tried the PEG Secnic Drive kit? I used to use the NDEX transit-enabled lots but I never had dood luck with them. PEG's lots, although not transit enabled, are FAR more realistic and FAR more flexible.

I agree - probably your city is a nice place to settle down. It must be a pain learning to navigate, though.
