...to play this game in a manner that i can actualy appreciate it, but its been so long that i've forgotten what i knew, and i have a folder full of no doubt outdated SC4 addons that i don't even recognise.

First off, there was an excellent thread that had links to all sorts of stuff, even the landscape designer, where is that now? I recall there being a link to it in someone's sig.

Otherwise, as a recap, i need the standard updater, then some lighting fix, then 2 or 3 BAT related patches?

Which of the landmark plugins were needed? I know the castle walls were, anyothers, most of them are a bit crap as i recall.

There was an obscure road fix, namely to move the cars back onto the other side of teh road for the UK version where the cars were on the wrong side in relation to the traffic lights, where would i find that?

And mostly a shedload of other annoying questons which i won't ask untill i've done some good looking around, but those are the important ones.

Otherwise, the site is looking great, kudos on the upgrade.

Hey, garfiedude! Nixe to see you back! 4.gif

The tolls you mention are iLive's Reader, LEProp (also by iLive), and - you may not know that one yet - SC4Tool by simrolle. This last one comes with several editors etc. First of all, it contains a database of all in-game buildings, complete with all relevant stats and their original English names plus the names they got in your localized version. There is a comparer which is a handy tool to compare the stats of one building with one or more reference building to check whether stats are off. There is a texture creator, a dependency scanner, a transit-enabling editor that's so easy to use that even I can handle it, a file merging tool, and of course an exemplar editor which can be used to quickly adjust the stats of buildings and lots in clear alphanumerical values - no more switching between hex and decimal.

I still prefer the Reader for some tasks, but that's also because I'm so used to it.

A new Startup Manager is in the works; the current version enables you to assign a plugins folder to a region and switch between plugins folders depending on which region you play. The new version will be able to assign even individual cities to an individual set of plugins and can enable/disable sub-folders in your mainh plugins folder.

All in all, the community is bustling with activity, and I'm sure you'll love the possibilities once you have regained that SimCity feeling.

Oh, also make sure you take a look at at buddybud's "Underbridge scenery" thread, it will make your eyes pop out of their sockets! The High-Speed Rail Project (HRSP) is worth a look as well. Countless new great BATs of course...
