Parking Lots Are Gone!!

Sorry if this is in the wrong place...  I'm new.

Anyway, I got Deluxe edition, got the Maxis-made patch, and then I started downloading new buildings.  So, all was going well until all the parking lots on buildigns that came with the game dissappeared.  All of them.  Commercial, residendial, industrial and civic, all gone.  Having just installed the Saulte St. Marie Parking lot thing, I assumed that to be the culprit, but when I built one in my city, it looked all messed up.  Note that I later discovered that to be cause by a lack of a certain texture pack, and I ended up fixing that one, but none of the other ones.'

So, I removed it from my plugins folder, but it was to no avail.  After restarting the game the lots were still gone.

Then I decided to remove all plugins, and I removed all the files in the mydocs\SC4 (except region docs) but that didn't fix it either.  So, I've put everything back in the interim, but that didn't help. 

Note that:

Cars use the now-grassy lots just as they would use a normal parking lot, so it didn't affect their transit properties.

Also, some buildings bases are gone, like the craptastic low wealth residential ones don't even have dirt driveways.  Mayors mansion doesn't have driveways either.

So, yeah.  any help is appreciated.

wrong thread, thats it natalya UR FIRED! lol, j/k. this and all kinds of questions like this should be directed to the bugs&technical issues thread. but its ok, we'll let it slide on this first one. lol.

if u DL'ed the patch, make sure to check your settings, as the patch has a way of reseting them to low, making things disapear mysteriously. also if need be, remove your plugins folder to your desktop, and reinstall the game. it could be due to a faulty install, which is not all that uncommon. also make sure to back up any saved citys u wanna keep. my feeling is its a dependency that u may be missing. also make sure u get the bldg_prop vol1 & 2 from www.simcity.com as well along with the B.A.T nitelite patch. otherwise u wont see custom lots lite up at night.

if u have "brown boxes" this is due to missing dependencies, 10/10 times.

reset your graphics to make sure they are where u want them to be, check this before anything else!

Hey thanks a lot!!  It was the graphics thing like u said.  Patch had set them at medium, so when I put them back on high, it worked.

I had the same exact problem once- I open my favorite city and are the lots look like nothing. For some reason Sim City set the detail settings to low, making parking lots and driveways dissapear. Defenitely check your video options.

yea...very common question

it's the auto patch that is most often the cause for this...when you install the patches...it resets all the graphic setting to min....not sure why, but it does
