SC4 quits

Hello to sim-fans. I am new here so i got one question.

When creating a new region i follow the instructions - creating a new folder, placing config.bmp there, then in SC4 pushing ctrl-alt-shift-r, choosing jpg and.. Seems like the game starts to create a region but suddenly quits, and that's it.

I retried several times with some more jpg's but the same there. Don't know what to do. Help, i want Saint Petersburg! =))

Have you tried a re-installation of SimCity 4? Re-installing the game will not remove the saved region data unless you prompted the installer to do so.

There is a problem with interrupted region renderring.  Before running one, turn off your screen saver and disconnect from the internet.  If the render is interrupted, strange things happen.

If the game quits, you may not have enough memory for the renderer.  You need at least 512MB if you are running Windows XP and 1024MB is better.  XP runs so much stuff as separate tasks, that you need much more memory than advertised to run anything other than a small tile.  Also, you should put your virtual memory up to maximum if you can afford the disk.  (initial, maximum) = (4096, 4096).

If you are still having problems, please post your system configuration.

I would do a malware scan if I were you.  If you are getting a lot of interrupts from your Internet connection, you may have a keylogger or other reporter running.

Why does The game Sometimes quit back to my desktop. I've got in the habit of saving every minutes on average but I have already lost hundreds of hours of accumilated gameplay.PLEASE HELP Thank you my lovely DEVOLOPERS !
