Human seafood consumption has declined by 18% since the Chicken King opened, and another 9% since the summer hot wings promotion. Feline consumption has held steady. They want to encourage consumption, lest the fishermen catch a much small income!

Bakercity Well, the good news is that I can have a gBay auction for CK franchises (I alluded to one earlier) if anyone is interested in bidding. But, the actual CK lot has the unfortunate difficulty of not showing up on any menu in game. So, it isn't actually buildable yet - until the lot gets fixed. Given this, I will now get a head count: who is interested in bidding for "future franchises" of CK?

Chicken King Franchise Auction

Part 1: Registration & Rules

To register with gBay, simply reply back stating your interest in this auction. One does not have to be pre-registered, but, if there is a bidding tie or dispute, gBay will take care of registered members first.

Registrations will be taken until Friday (after I eat dinner... whatever time that is). Auction will begin Saturday when I wake up and will go for 24 hours, plus or minus. Note also gBay will assess a 10% surcharge for unregistered auction participants. So, save yourself some schulmonetas and register today!

Rules for Bidding

Rule 1: Each franchise license has an initial bid price of 8,500 schulmonetas. Once bidding begins, reply with your bid. gBay will recognize bids in increments of up to 2,000 schulmonetas. This means if the current bid is 10,000 and you bid 250,000,000 your bid will be automatically reduced to 12,000. This can impact your winning because if the following sequence occurs (an example), you would be outbid.

Your Bid 250,000,000 [reduced to 12,000 automatically]

New Bidder 13,000

In the example above, the new bidder beat a huge bid by 1,000 because of the inflation rule.

Rule 2: You may bid for more than one franchise. You cannot bid on more than 2 franchises. Each bid will need to be separate and identified by Lot Number.

Rule 3: All bids must identify which lot(s) are being bid upon. Bids not specifying a lot will automatically be assigned to the lowest lot number available.

Rule 4: All bids must be in reply form, rather than PM. gBay has difficulty processing secret bids.

Rule 5: To allow for fair and open bidding, bids will be honored if following a two post separation. This separation is valid only on same-lot bids. 

Part 2: What you are bidding on

You are bidding on the rights to a single Chicken King franchise. Since the lot is still under repair, it is not growable or ploppable right now. So, you are bidding for the right to name one of your lots Chicken King or to have a lot in Schulmania for Chicken King and under your ownership. Winning bidders will need to specify which they prefer.

Once the lot has been fixed, winners can contact me for the actual growable/ploppable lot, which can then be used in the winners' cities.

Part 3: Other

These rules and description are subject to change from now up until the formal auction is announced. Friday evening (Schulmanator Daylight Time.... UTC-4) will have a post listing all registered auction participants and announce the auction. After that post, bids will be accepted. Updates will occur throughout the auction cycle to let participants know the winning bidders. Remember - it aint over till it's over. So, if you have used a service similar to gBay in the past, you know that someone may be watching.... watching.... watching very closely.
