Residential and Commercial but no Industry

Hey there.  I am one of those people who love to make cities and big ones ( when I rarely can get a large one ) at that.  I really like how the residential and the commercial looks and I just don't like industry.  I don't like how the smog looks.  So what I am wondering is there a good way that I can make a city prosper without having industry?  I try and they just never seem to grow that big.  I was just wondering if anyone had any design tips.  Thanks

you can do this....have quite a few cities with no IND in them...but I do suggest you put your IND in a satilite city next to this city...the jobs they provide are  quite helpful...and the pollution doesn't travel from city to city either...

HT-IND also doesn't create much pollution...if I do put IND in a RES city, go for HT_IND...I tax the Dirty and Manf high to discourage their development
