Start off by building your house.

I'm not kidding. You will have the easiest reference, as it's litterally all around you. If you can build your own house to your complete satisfaction, you will be able to do just about anything. I'm not even suggesting you release it. But if you want to get familiar with the BAT, that's the simplest way.

(I still haven't managed to build my house the way I want, btw.)
