For those of you that found the pics too long to download - since they were png's, you should not have any trouble anymore since every pic now is jpg. You have no reason anymore not to come to visit this CJ. Most of the pics are 800X600 - few to resized yet.

The mayor of Arrache announces an update of Portèse - the most recent district to be developped.

The district administration - in cooperation with the central regional government - chosed not to limit building height. The result is striking. A race for the sky created a gigantism freenzy.

Most of the high density's sections are completely built and the city planning department is now spending more time on the finishing touch.

    sanstitre14tl9.jpg

The hillside will be kept as natural as possible and a forest trail leading to an observatory will be added at the end of the trail.

Thank you jacqulina. Coming from you, I very highly enjoy the comment. Even thought not many simnauts -neologism that I invented in French to describe the internauts foruming on toutsimcity.com - not many simnauts are posting feedbacks on my CJ, I can see that it is visited a little bit. Happy New Years everyone !!

This is the south-east of Portèse, just north of the Regional Center for the Art that was shown previously :

    sanstitre31gh6.jpg

In a city where real estate space is rare and precious, an airport is a must but an obstacle to highrises construction in the same time. That is why the aerial corridor leading to the airstrip is so narrow. Like for other cities airport in the world that are in the same case, only qualified trained pilots are allowed to land and/or take-off from Portèse's airport.

jacqulina : thanks for the cheering. I was wondering why my CJ did not have more feedback. I'm full with the Holiday spirit now !!

Schulmanator : it seems like my amusement park will benefit from the new equipments uploaded on the Stex by RJM Designs today.

Dan Tso : glad to be inspiring !!

Now, here's an incredible revelation : Arrache's location on our world. It finally has been released to the simnaut's users of toutsimcity.com after more than two years of showing them pics of the region. You won't have to wait that long since today is the revelation day !!

    logoarrache500x145mj1.jpg

    Here it is :

    arrachesituezu8.jpg

It's within the Bermuda's triangle. As a matter of fact, this city is knowned by the "Unnormal" - the name given by the people of Arrache to you, human being from the "other side"  - this city is knowned  to Humans by the name of Atlantis.  You all know about the legend, don't you ? How come Arrache never has been revealed to the "Unnies" (the cool and slang word for Unnormals) ? Simply because a dense cloud of mist is protecting it. That mist, despite its liquid state is as dense as titanium and nothing can be perceived trough it by any mod of detection - even from space, even with Hubble telescope or any spying satellite. The N.A.S.A. and the C.I.A. (as the Russians and the Chinese) tried so many times to unveal the contents on the other side of the cloud that even Arrachian's authorities stop counting. Unnies cannot detect them but they can detect any attempt to "read" them - so that even if they've been trusting the unexplicable mist capacity to hide their existence from what they consider as the outside world, they stay alert every time anyone try to discover the mystery of Atlantis.

What Unnies do not know is that Arrachian's ships (sails ships in previous centuries and explosion's engine ships today even nuclear engine ship) are travelling all over the planet, pretending to be from any of your existing nations. Same with planes. Arrachians have no imperialism motivations but simply travel the world around to provide Arrache with the necessary goods to run the city - as any of your cities would do or to sell Arrache's manufactured goods.

Thanks everyone. Anyone familiar with the region must have seen the circular forest that has been protected. Here is a general view of the Martiapolis'district. Some lunatics believe that this is a supernatural phenomenon and because of that, this is a the most important pilgrimage's center in Arrache. The religious people thought were slow to build shrine and commerces were there long before any zealot's sects could build any important temple. As you'll see with more details a little later, investors were faster to react (as opposed to zealots) and that resulted on the construction of many observation's tower around the phenomenon. Please note that this district has been developped few months ago and that since then, I love to believed that I acquired more mastering of the game.

    martiapolis25vuegeneralui3.jpg

However, this pic from year 25 doesn't show the full developement of this district.

Let me start by showing the evolution of the south-west :

    In year 52 :

    martiapolis52so28799x60ot8.jpg

    In year 63 :

    martiapolis63so09799x60pu4.jpg

    In year 73 :

    martiapolis73so04799x60af1.jpg

    Close-up in 73 :

    martiapolis73sanstitre0gc4.jpg

In 91, the view from the observation tower is obstructed by some buildings that have been been built at the edge of the protected forest :

    martiapolis91so14799x60ud3.jpg

as you can see at the top left of the later pic, the entranched highway has been covered.

    Before :

    martiapolis67avant06799pt0.jpg

    After :

    martiapolis67apres10799cq7.jpg

    martiapolis91centreouesio1.jpg

A view from slightly north of the previous one :

    martiapolis91centrenordsy2.jpg

The north-west end of Martialpolis as in 52 :

    martiapolis52no29799x60pu4.jpg

    martiapolis52no30799x60ho4.jpg

    and in year 80 :

    martiapolis80no11799x60zx3.jpg

    The northend :

    martiapolis51ne21799x60aa5.jpg

    The north-east end :

    martiapolis52ne31799x60pv5.jpg

    The center-east :

    martiapolis51centrenordgm6.jpg

    The south-east (details) :

    martiapolis34centresuddkc1.jpg

    The center-south :

    martiapolis91centresud1vn3.jpg

The center-south toward west in 73 (details) :

    martiapolis73centresud0xw8.jpg

    Center south-west general view in 73 :

    martiapolis73centresud0gj0.jpg

    In 91 :

    martiapolis91centresud1bi8.jpg

As you can see here as in many pics, all the observation towers were bulit on an earlier stage of developement - when the urban department believed that the construction should be limited to preserve the enire circular forest. Much later, real estate moguls had controls over zoninf for a little while before teh zealots had their way at City Hall, therefore allowing the city council to pass the Circle Forest Protection Act or CIFOPROACT. Some cal it the CIFOPACT.

    Center, south :

    martiapolis51centresudexd9.jpg

    martiapolis51centresud2gc5.jpg

Between 51 and 91, a new mostly residential neighbourhood was built :

    martiapolis91centresud1eq0.jpg

As I mentioned in the introduction to Martianopolis, the zealots were too late to ract and barely no church were built in this district. However, the district just north of here, named Mont-qui-Parle (or translated from french Mount-that-speaks) has been host to many different sects and their shrine. This will be the subject of the next update.

    logoarrache500x145mj1.jpg

This is a teaser for the next update. Martiapolis is the site of a strange unexplained phenomenon where a forest grew naturaly with a circular shape, creating a religious frenzy. Unfortunately, the district on which this forest is located has been invaded by the "vendors of the temple" - disappointing the zealots pilgrims that could not find decent terrain to build temples. Not to be taken by surprise a second time, many different sects (or religions, depending on which side we're located) bought terrains on the district north of Martiapolis, named Mont-qui-Parle or "Mount-that-Speaks" - all this before any other real estate sharks had time to react.

Here is the regional map indicating the location of the two district, connected to eache other :

    arrache1168047339799x59au9.jpg

Since I discover recently that I also have a life outside of SC4, I'm going to a diner at night with some friends. So, update will have to wait.
