In order to understand what I, supra-mayor of Arrache like to simply call the "phenomenon" here is a flashback :

    arrache1142526092800x60rs5.jpg

On this second picture as you can see it, the Urban Planning Dept. in association with the Road Dept. has been carefull not to disturb the phenomenon simply because the population is split in two groups : those who worship the forest as not only an act of God but also as a proof of its existence and those who, just in case prefer by sheer superstition not to take any chance and would rather ignore the phenomenon and make sure not to provoke bad omen by destroying it. The board of the U.P.D. is fill by as many of the first group as from the latter.

    arrache1152323467799x59vn0.jpg

As I posted previously,  the district just south of Mont-qui-Parle is the location of an unexplained forest circular growing pattern. Unfortunately for those of the Arrachians that are spirituals and believe in the the God's intervention in this phenomenon, not enough section around the circular forest ever was left for building any shrines of any sorts. Consequently, the various sects  that saw the day decided one after the other to get their hands on as many terrains as they could on the district just north of Martianapolis.

That's how and why Mont-qui-Parle became that unusual district.

First, about the name : Mont-qui-Parle, translating as Mount-that-Speaks. It has to do with the fact that wind that blows between two hills creating a very strange sound that ressemble whispering voices.

It all started when the Infinite Circle's Worshipers bought one of the closest south west terrains from Martiapolis, as close as possible from the circular forest :

     sanstitre30799x600ms0.jpg

They were quickly followed by the Circonferencers ( the temple of which appears on the right) and the Order of the Orbe ( on the left ) :

    sanstitre31799x600cb7.jpg

Some of the members of the Order of the Orbe splited from them, mostly because they felt that the other members of the Order were... peasants, ignorants and not wealthy enough for them. They did not want to be associated with them. Therefore, they went up north and up the hill to build a much more flamboyant temple, renaming their order the Orbiculars :

     sanstitre29799x600bs6.jpg

Now, let me introduce to you the Annulants, one of themost mystical sects in the neighbourhood :

    sanstitre32799x600ss5.jpg

Not only did they built a charming little temple but they also provide shelter for their worshipers. The chalets allow followers to stay for a longer lenght of time, allowing worshipers to really transform their attending of this small site into a real pilgrimage.

Soon, a second temple ans a small inn was built to accomodate increasing number of worshipers :

    sanstitre35799x600rp1.jpg

Just north of the Annulants are the Radiants ( the Rayonnants, in French). This religion from the beginning decided to inspire from architecture from the Ancient :

    sanstitre34799x600hb6.jpg

Their followers grew so rapidly that this acropolis became the largest religious complex in not only this district but also in the entire region.

    sanstitre38799x600hl2.jpg

Surprisingly, just a year later is how the Acropolis looked like :

    sanstitre43799x600dm5.jpg

Long before the district was developed, existence of these ruins was common  knowledge. These ruins look like long time ago there was quite a good size religious building in Arrache. No documents, no other artefacts were uncovered that could give us any clues about this building. The cross was bulid by the followers of a little sect that choose to spend more money for its erection than for their own temple that is - compare to most of the temples in Mont-qui-Parle -  quite modest.

    sanstitre40799x600mb8.jpg

    sanstitre39799x600js4.jpg

And finally, to conclude today's update :

     sanstitre41799x600of9.jpg

To prove that even sacred grounds can be home to urban development :

    sanstitre42799x600wb7.jpg

In the year 49, most of the highrises were residentials. Office building came later.

    sanstitre44799x599ep5.jpg

As you can see in the next pic, there are office buildings in this district in 89 :

    sanstitre45799x599mg2.jpg

More details chronological pics will be posted later...

This mayor can see that his CJ is visited but is really surprised to witness no writen reactions - bad or good. Some feedback would be appreciated.

Anyhow, here is the most recent addition to the region. That is what I've been doing recently. The next district to be displayed is called Long-Fil ( as in "Long-Thread" ). The name refer to the narrowness of the river in this part of Arrache. The name is actually a french translation of an ancient tribal langage from milleniums ago.

    sanstitre2zm7.jpg

This district is at the edge of the map, north of Mont-qui-Parle. This is obviously a district not highly developed and that probably won't never see dense zoning. It seems that not much will evolve here from what you see now.

However, a bizarre ancient site was uncovered from a densely pack forest recently and its discovery came to a shock to the Arrachians :

    sanstitre1pt7.jpg

As you can see in this picture, this archeological discovery is strangely similar to the site of Stonehenge in England. Carbon14 calculation is dating it from about one (maybe two) century before the Stonehenge site. Since its discovery, two theory have been developed. The first one : some ancients Arrachians dissatisfied with the life in our paradise (then, Arrache was a paradise and not the megalopolis it is today) decided to sail out of here. This theory is widely accepted since the Arrache's site have been dated from before the Stonehenge's one ; therefore, it would explain the inexplicable. These travellers would have worship the "phenomenon" (the circular forest) and would have built some kind of altar, rounded shape to imitate the forest's shape.

Opponents to this theory are stating that carbon14 datation does not allowed to pinpoint precisely that "our" Stonehenge is older that the british one. Therefore, it could be possible that the foggy shield surrounding Arrache was at one point in time weakened for some reason and that sailors from the outside world were able to get through. Those outsider ( called by us the "Unnies", short for Unnormals) would have been from today's England - which is the most logical conclusion for the pros of this theory. They stayed for awhile - long enough to discover the circular forest and associate it to their own believes. They would have built this altar and whatever came of them is not theorised by the archeologists believing in this theory.

In this last view, you see the altar ( in the middle) and the temple built by The Planetarians - the guardians of the site. This is the same congregation that built a small chapel next to the ruins of an ancient abbay, just south of here in Mont-qui-Parle. In the upper right part of this pic, you can see a small inn built and maintained by the Palnetarians for pilgrims that would like to stay overnite.

These two pics just to tease you. You all know that this region is what the earthlings that you are call Atlantis, mythical city - the existence of which you never were able to prove. So, it should not come as a surprise that one of the district in this city is named after that energy source - Naquadria.

I'd like you to comment. It seems that many of you are visiting my CJ but very few give me feedbacks.

Well !! ?? Barely no one reply to my CJ. I'm still unsettled !!?? I've been going through many CJ's where there are a lot more replies. I have to admit that I'm not that much of a great storyteller but my region is as valuable as any. So, despite a lack of story, I thought that you (the Simtropolis community) would react at least a little bit - as opposed to almost not !! as of now !! My three last update have generated only one reply from homeandaway - whom I would like to thanks here.
