Hi All,
After fully installing both SimCIty4 Cds with no problems, i put in my 2nd CD and click on the SC4 shortcut to start playing. It brings up a windows error message, which reads
"SimCIty 4 has encountered a problem and needs to close.
We are sorry for the inconvenience."

It then wants to send an error report to Microsoft, which i did. Microsoft does not have a fix for the problem and just refers me back to ea online. After clicking on to see what the eroor report contains it has error signature is as follows:
AppName: simcity 4.exe            AppVer: 1.0.272.0       ModName: ~df394b,tmp
ModVer: 0.0.0.0             Offset:002aa4e

Please Help as i'v still not been able to play SC4.

My system is as follows: Intel P4 2.8Ghz, 448 Mb Ram , 672 Virtual Ram.
I am using Sim City 4.

it wasn't exactly a great idea to ask microsoft for help 4.gif they can't really do anything. try reinstalling, maybe you got something corrupted.

We still need more. The list I posted is ideal. Look on google if you don't know how to find out what your system specs are.

    EDIT:

Since this problem is happening on another PC, it's possible that the CD is damaged. However, this is not likely since you were able to install the game. It's even possible, but even more unlikely, that the PC software environment is causing this problem. I really need your system specs in order to say more.

That ~dfb4653.tmp process is the SafeDisc copy-protection scheme. Your game thinks it's pirated. Are these legitimate store-bought official CDs (truthfully)?

EDIT: I'm not accusing anyone of anything, just saying that burned copies won't work. So if you're one of those people who likes to put the original media in a safe place and run off backups, you're out of luck.
