New Transportation-Question

Hi there...

I was wondering, is it toally 100%, no hope, impossible to create new transit newtworks? Is there a way to somehow get down deep into the files of SC4 and modify them or add new ones?

Or is this just another newbie question...

I can't see why it is impossible?

GLR is a modded version of the EL-rail, where the tracks has been placed on the ground.

For us to add an entire new transit network, we have to gain access to the exe, but we haven't access. For that we need EA / Maxis permission to modify them.

Impossible; yes. Each of the networks RULs' TGI IDs are effectively defined within the EXE themselves. So as vester_DK said, we'd need access & permission to modify that area of the game.

Maybe an easier way of solving this problem IN THE FUTURE (bare it! ) is if Will Wright can come up with a user interface allowing you to design and create your own custom network. This would solve 75% of the problem with exe. and would also be benificiary to Will's talent and creations. I've also tried to create such an interface (for myself) but ''re'' read my licience agreement and decided it wasn't for the best if I couldn't share it LEGALLY. Simcity 4 and it's creators and third party addons/plugins (B.A.T. and Gmax and Lot editor) have helped establish the building and architectual aspects of network addons and transit enabled lots but not the network tool itself. Maybe if some one reads this and can pass the idea I mensioned to Will Wright, the genius behind simcity, the SIMCITY GOD; he will give us the possibility we seek as of now. But as BarbyW stated, right now it's unlikey that we will earn the right to alter the exe.
