Hello!

I have a city with a BEAUTIFUL MT system, I am so proud of it!  I have subway, bus, rail, highways and ferries for my commuters.  I have 77,000 people,  thanks to the Radical Demand Ordinance I have 400,000 commercial jobs for my people and residential demand is still through the roof.  My commute time is 30 mins, I think I have one or two building of whiners who complain about the commute, but most love it.  On my traffic map a few subway lines are orange for a small part but none are red yet, and the roads and highways are all green!  Now why is my city stagnating???  Thanks for the help 4.gif

it's the way Maxis made it. Sims want to get to work fast (I think). That's why they use roads in stead of mass transit. If you put buses in $$$ Homes noboby uses it. Poop people love buses. i hate that to about the commute times. you will find a modd for your problem. I forgot the name, but someone here knows.

I thought sims just take the shortest route to work and not the fastest?

My population is stuck around 21,000; I will hopefully get through it by reducing the commute time they're whining like a banchet about it... and i don't cheat

It isn't the commute time in my city, I don't know what it is. Can anyone help me?

From my experience with the Radical Ordinance, i have found that it actually stunts proper growth despite most things being perfect. I seriously think there is a problem with modd. I hope 'tho you're not talking about the Super demand modd but the actual radical ordinance modd.

I wasted months on it till i got rid of it and did things the old fashion way (NAM, pollution reducing lots and weakness pays until things were in balance).

I just posted a thread in the General Discussion area (might've been better suited here) asking if 20,000 pop is some kind of magic number. Once my cities reach 20,000 sims trying to get new areas to develop, no matter what the zoning, turns into a huge uphill battle. I even use Equinox's plugin that shows cap demands in the pop-up menu of buildings without custom queries, so I know if and when I'm closing in on a cap so I know caps aren't the problem.

I've heard many people say that the demand mod is a bad thing overall. I prefer going with what the game naturally demands then build accordingly. I've also found that even without a demand mod I can end up with way too many jobs for my sims--which isn't a good thing, either.
