SC4 won't start up

I was playing SC4 about an hour ago. Almost all of my buildings wen't abandoned due to commute time right after I added a new route because one building went. I told myself I wasn't going to do this again, so I pressed the hotkey to go to the start menu. That's what I do when I need to go to another window. I opened up ST and downloaded the abandonment and dilapitation mod along with the new god mode tools mod. Then I realized it probably wasn't a good idea to download things for SC4 while the game was running so I opened it back up and saved and quit. After browsing the forums at the Planning Pages for a while I went to start up SC4. But when the splash screen that shows the bridge appear it ended the process of starting up. The splash screen vanished as usual and then the noise of my computer launching SC4 up stopped. I waited about five minutes. Nothing happened. I tried again around 12 more times and it did the same thing. Can anyone help? It would really be appreciated. Especially sometime soon because I'm working on a cj over at the Planning Pages and at FRF as well, and I don't want to take too long to update it.

I'm assuming you have no backup.. If you did a backup why didn't it work? If you got a corrupted save, I know of no way to recover.. though usually u only lose one city. You lost all the region? Or SC4 just won't start? If the last, I'd just back up all my plugins and completely re=install..

yes! u lose everything. copy your plug-in's file to the desktop and then re-install the game and then move the plug-ins back to there destination. i think it was just a corrupt one in a million thing that happened. if however u do re-install and put the plugins back and it does it again remove the plugins and try again. if that dont work then i'm at a loss.

I remembered that this happened before and all I had to do is restart the computer. Mods, please close this thread.
