Ok I am having a problem with SC4 deluxe and wanted to know how to fix it. Here's what's wrong.
I am in the game and am trying to lay down Beachset v2.1 by homer. Everything works great, I'll lay in some nice beach pieces and everything looks great untill I go into the water pipe system and when I come out of that the beach seems different...like the beach is now showing through the water. I'm using the default maxis water and I'm running a XP.. 1.30GHz machine with 384 ram with a NVIDIA Geforce4 MX 4000. I also have all the updates for SC4 Deluxe and am using the SC4 startup manager
One other thing I don't understand is I know I have at least 512 in ram but it only shows 384. anyway to increase it? I guess I can't show you and pictures I have to use a zip disk and made them png's

THat's a beach bug, and I don't know of anything to fix it. I read somewhere though, that you click the zone toggle button or something in the Data Views to revert it back to its normal appearance. For some reason going underground ruins the appearance of beaches.

SC4 sometimes needs some tweaking--just like jiggling a toilet to make it flush. Sorry for the analogy. I've just been reading AK's Eye Poop Album.

I have the same problem. Right pain it is too. Basically just switch to zone view and then back to normal view and the beaches look as they should. I tried it only the other day when I really got fed up of my beaches doing this and had a look on the forum for fixes. Not sure whether you will have to do this everytime you switch to underground view but it certainly fixes the problem if only for a while!

Hello samoyed1958,

On your ram issue: 512M - 384M = 128M which sounds like you have a video integrated into your mainboard - if you are actually using a video card in an expansion slot - then you may be able to disable the mainboard video and gain back that 128M; on the other hand - if you are using the integrated video - anything you try will probably degrade the video quality.
