Yep, I have a problem. I just got a new copy of Sim City 4 after my first one broke. Well, I loaded it up on my new high end system and there seems to be a problem. I am running it on the lowest time speed but cars are moving very fast! It makes U-Drive it missions impossible... are there anyways to fix this?

some specs of your current system u are running the game on might shed some light on this a bit. post these along with your OS and directx version if u could. also what version of the game (i.e SC4 + RH expansion) are u running and if u have the current update. there is a variable speed automata button in the graphics options if u have the RH expansion. uncheck this and see what happens. plz post specs of ur machine to help us help u.

I have a custom Cyber power Ultra SLI Elite with two Nvidia 7600 GS Video cards and SLI bridge. I have two 250GB SATA hard drives, and 512mbs of RAM. I haven't gotten around to patching it and I own Sim City 4 deluxe edition.

well your system specs are good enough to run the game(recommend 1 gig ram), so this is not the issue i do not believe. i'm not familiar really with the deluxe edition, i i have them seperate. try patching the game and see what happens next. or uninstall and re-install the game if this does not correct your issue.

Is it a dual core? I heard that SC4 ddoesn't like dual core.

Yeah it's a dual core. Eh, the benefits of getting the dual core were better. Two free $30 dollar games and a free 2gb memory stick. It paid the difference.

EDIT: I tryed the Automata trick, it did nothing. I patched the game and they are still zooming around like I have it on the highest speed.

I suspect you have achieved the dual core problem.  Try setting the affinity to use only one cpu.

When the game loads, press Ctrl+Alt+Del to bring up the Task Manager. Click the Applications tab, and Right-click SimCity 4. Select go to Process. Now right click the selected process and select Set Processor Affinity. Select only one CPU. Now click the button on the taskbar where the game minimized to, and it should load back up.

Unfortunately, you will have to do that everytime you load the game. Someone posted a Microsoft workaround to issues like this, but I don't know where it is.
