New Modd Question

Hi Mayors;

      I wanted to know what program do I need besides ilive_reader093 tool to create need

     modds for SC4. I've been getting advice from the guy who created the Avenue with the

     Middle Lane Modd. I've been thinking of doing 1 for the Road. By adding a center lane

     for sims to use for turning only. It's sorta of like a 3-Lane Road. And maybe perhaps

     a road with passing lanes. Where roads have 3 Lanes 1 side where Right Lane 

     may pass only.  And Vise visa with the Left lane. And thanxs in advance for your advice

As for center turn lanes for roads, this has been done already. It's included in the NAM. However, these turn lanes show up only at intersections, so if you had something else in mind, go right ahead with this! We have a scarcity of Transit Modders on the forusm now.

I'm not really an official part of the Transit modders. I just learn and try on some ambitious projects that end up being put on the back burner due to time constraints. Most of the Transit modders here are part of the NAM team, and most of the NAM team is experiencing a lot of RLS. That's one of the main reasons we've gone so long without another release of the NAM.

I don't know if the NAM team is willing to accept inexperienced members because it is a very complex mod. But hey, what's the harm in asking?

I know I've missed quite a few members, but my memory has started to fail me recently. Almost all of those members have become inactive around the forums recently, or only sign on once a month for about 30 minutes. Just shoot them a PM and see what they say.

Well, if you want to know something about transit network modding, don't ask me. My knowledge in this area is rather limited, and in most cases, I have only a vague idea. For the NAM, I'm more the PR guy, since I only created the new icons, the installer and the new readme file layout, which will be included into the next version.

The modd squad or transit modd squad are both set up so that you can join them only through achievement. So making very good mods gets you in, or a very good program, or another significantly large contribution.

As for programs, reader and whatever you use to make images (like sc4tool + photoshop) are sufficient... Other than that, you need to do a lot of forum reading and searching. There's no way to just learn it all in one place.
