Hello all,

sorry if this seems like another n00bish question, but without them we wouldn't have much to do 3.gif Anyway, I need a serious video card upgrade, but I would like to know which one runs best with SC4 you know? I had an older one, not sure what kind but it had 32MB of Video Memory. I was looking into a higher grade one, but I biult this computer strictly for SC4, and I need to know which Video Card runs the game best 2.gif I have a PCI slot for a video card, as nothing seems to be integrated on this motherboard 26.gif but that's ok, makes it easier to replace.

please..help,

Frankie

Ok you got a 32mb video card but also a pci express slot? I don't believe that.

At first you should look what kind of ram you've plugged in. I think it's ddr1. Your new mainboard will definately have DDRII slots - you can not use your old RAM. Your new mainboard should also support 800 MHZ rambus. Then you have to figure out which sockel your chip has got and THEN you should choose the video card. I would decide a dual core intel CPU, 2 nvidia 7900 monsters and of course GEIL DDRII 800 MHZ more than 1,5 gig.

-buy new mainboard

-check the socket

-check the supported DDR MHZ

-buy new cpu

-buy new ram

and then comes the graphiccard. If you don't, you will have compatiblity problems.

This is gonna be expensive.

Oh and I know - my english sucks 1.gif

I have plenty of money 3.gif but this is an older computer, and actually there are 5 PCI slots. I bought new RAM for the motherboard, I now have 1024 MB. It's just I need an idea for a video card that is MOST compatible with SC4 4.gif

There is no most compatible. SC4 was released years ago, so the best thing to do would be to go with what was cutting edge tech back then. I have a Geforce 5500 FX on pci running fine.

That's what I meant, however old it may be, remember the computer I biult is older. I might just try the one you mentioned, Geforce 5500 FX, maybe I can find one on eBay or something.....
