So im currently been building my city first time from scratch and my mayor rating is great and im currently in the green of $2,500 and expenses are about $2,000

I keep getting warned of air pollution and it seems to be looming, I tried removing some dirt industires but they keep rebuilding, I added some parks and trees but the pollution is still there, how do I tackle this situation?

from my experience, education is the key, build more schools, libraries, the smarter your sims, the better chance they will develop more high tech industries, this is one option, also set your ordinance for clean air, or you can just jack the dirty industry taxes higher than the rest.(these are just some options)

Car also cause pollution, but Sims do insist in using them. Try and invest in public transport if you can.

raise the dirty industries tax to the max and lower the medium idustrie really low and then when your city starts complaning about medium idustries rasie it up and lower hight tech industires but the hight tech is really hard because they dont want any poullution that was left behind but the other 2 industeriesso if you want to distroy medium industries for hight tech itll take a while and destroying the idustries lowers your income buy alot

i also have a problem with this and i dont think that theres any really effective solutions. the only thing i would recommend is to separate industrial zones from all other zones. I found that if you connect the zones by highways, there are no complaints about commute time.

Education. An educated population has no demand for dirty industry and a very small demand for manufacturing industry. You shouldn't have much trouble keeping pollution at a managable level then. Car pollution is nothing compared to industry.

Umm, a had that same problem, wait until your city is 30000 inhabitants, and raise dirty taxes, lower Hitech and the pollution will be gone in a 50%, place park and keep trees
