Okay, I open up my city to see if PEG's cop car mod works, right? An when I do, I find that several of the MAXIS Chicago style 2 story houses have lost there base textures, showing the background image of 'the void'. I''ll try posting pics If I can find the tutorial telling how. I don't knoe my system specs, but I have a great graphics card.

Well, try moving that new mod out of your plugins to someplace where it is not in the game view.

If you have a great graphics card, be aware that SC4 isn't very happy with newer hardware.  Be sure an either turn off or set to "applicationi selected" all the fancy things your card can do.

Have you tried this in software rendering?

Have you checked your graphics settings in the game.  They should be high.

Without more information, we can only guess.  Please tell us:

Your machine specifications, if you need to use System  Information

What version of the game you are running (SC4, RH, Deluxe)

What version of the game exe you have (in the properties of the executable)

What version of DirectX you have

Erm...I don't know to much about computers. It turns out its only in one of my small farming cities, so I'll just stay out of it. I know it's not PEG's mod because i've had it before and deleted it later. You seem to be the one that always helps me N_O_Body...

Nerd_guy you'll just have to learn more.  If you want to get the most out of this game, you have to become a little more technical.  A computer isn't like a car.  You have to understand the engine and some of the transmission before you can drive it well.   Maybe you could get someone local to you to coach you.  To play SC really well, you need to understand concepts of

    Memory (RAM and Virtual Memory)

Graphics Hardware and Drivers including DirectX

    Sound cards and drivers

    Processor with respect to speed.

This game eats all of the above, especially memory and processor.  it is a very intense simulaton game that has a lot of code in it going around in loops as fast as possile with almost all of the game in memory all the time.

Try and find some time to sit down with your local computer geek and find out more.  The more you understand, the more fun you'll get out of this game.

You also have to know a few things about maintenance of your file system.  You should defragment your disk once a week, and eliminate temporary files as often as possible.  You also need to know about Internet threats such as viruses and adware.  These have to be eliminated regularly or your machine will bog down on stuff you didn't even want.
