Sever Bandwidth?

Its around 3:00 CST, I decided to download a couple of new parks, specifically the BSC ones. Well there are a ton of dependencies, so I started downloading expecting 20mgs are something along those lines. But no only 6 mg or so. About 2 mintues later, I realized the download wasn't complete yet. Since this was so out of the ordinary I click to see what the deal it. I'm downloading at less than 6kbs. ETA was 20 mintues for 6 mg?

I was just curious as to why the server has seemed to slow down so much, and was wonding if anyone else was having problems with it?

And before anyone even ask, no I'm not on the curse of the internet which is dial-up. I have High-End DSL.

STEX is a bit slow today..could be main pipe down for maintenance, so it's been switched to slower backup pipe..that's quite common, especially here in the UK

The UK? Whoa I thought the server was based somewhere in NA, specifically Canada? Well that explains why its slowed a bit.

I thought the problem might be on my end. My computer has been known to at time limit my upload/download rates for whatever reason. Can't wait to get my new one.

No, the server is located in Canada. I think callagrafx was saying that the main pipe being down for maintenance is common for UK servers.

edit: You're not the only one experiencing this problem, I downloaded a 3.54 MB file and it took about 10 minutes, so I think the server is under maintanance work or something. The STEX should be fine soon.

The server is in Hamilton, Ontario.  No meese there. 

If things have slowed down, it must be due to maintenance, or maybe load.  How many people were on when you tried that? 

Also, are you talking 0300 CST or 1500 CST?  If you were in the middle of the afternoon, that is probably a peak time for the net.  It is a shared resource, and you can only get what packets can get through.  Is your DSL via your phone company or a cable outfit?
