One thing i would like to see (if possible) is to have individual gates with their own capacity based on the size of the plane (ie. bus. jet, regional, large jet). You could then query your gates to see their usage and be able to adjust your airport funding to increase, decrease capacity and add aditional gates to increase the airport usage capacity.

    That would be hard to mod, a single mistake and you get a game crash.  That is why most gates are eyecabdy only.

    Could someone create a BAT of the Jeppesen Terminal at Denver International Airport?

    It looks awesome with the roof shaped like the mountains.

    Is there a way to make it so that the airports have a more regional effect? It's unrealistic how every city of moderate size requests an airport. I have a city of 1.5 million with an international airport. Once all the neighboring cities reached at certain population, I got the stupid "business clamoring for airport" request. What? Is there a way to make it so that the airports have a regional effect and not just a city wide effect. Same with the universities, hospitals and highways! That regional effect I feel, should manifest itself it two ways: airport volume increases to reflect it's regional use and whatever benefit the airport gives to the commercial sector in a city, that effect should also be regional. Perhaps it can have a radious effect, like police stations and schools. Larger airports serve a larger portion of the region. Does this sound crazy? By the way, I LOVE this site and though I've been using it for years, this is my very first posting to the forum. Thank you all for sharing your great talent and artistry? This game is truly unique and, by extension, this site as well.

    ScrollHectic: I don't think that is possible, but I am thinking of making a smaller airport tram stop and one that doesn't even look like one at all (so you don't have to place stops in all cities), though it would require some extensive modding.

    Now that Manchester is done, and the Simlympics are nothing to worry about anymore (except for the voting tom.), I might as well once again become our only active member.

    How about wider (3 tiles instead of 2) runways for the larger international airports with 747's and A380's landing? Or is this a Voltaire thing?

    EDIT: Acutally offocurse with bigger runways also bigger terminals etc are needed, ofcourse this is a lot asked, 'but you have ä no, you can get a yes! (That is actually a Dutch saying, and it doesn't really translates very well....)

    Whoa, you seem to be going a little overboard... though the air force area is certainly on the list.

    Some smaller terminals for intls too.  e.g. Cebu Mactan.

    The cargo terminals I may give it a try, though I may need Ace's 747 and put it in cargo livery form, or ask for it.

    The cargoes may end up being worked on by Ace, instead of us...

    Remember we may not get to all requests...

    I don't think that i am getting overboard on passenger terminals... We do have a serious lack of passenger terminals with a curved roof that spans 4, 6, or 8 tiles across...

    oh yeah... i forgot to mention...

    curved roof pieces - roof spans LENGTH of lot, glass on all sides:

    1x1, 1x1 with doors

    1x2, 1x2 with doors

    1x4, 1x4 with doors

    The first will be a re-release and improvement on my first airport pack, the terminals segment of the cancelled Pilotdaryl's Airport Pack V1.

    Then maybe I can BAT your requests.

    How about a simple lot with a lot of jobs (and I mean a LOT!) to make airports more realistic in the case of employement, traffic etc?

    petrikini: good idea!  If modding lots into airports will cause the game to crash, why not mod them into business zones?  You can ask ace about it for he might mod the entrance of his pack to include CS$$ jobs, and the Pilotdaryl's Airport Pack re-release is sure to have them!

    Could you make a thing of KCI (Kansas City International Airport) I really think that we should get some KC buildings on the STEX there are some really good ones in downtown KC, but even KCI would be cool.

    A series of airplanes that match, e.g. replacing the midprop with Dash 8/Fokker 50, the Avro with Boeing 737/Airbus A320 and the 707 with Boeing 777/747/Airbus A330/A340. Maybe not directly an airport request, but directly related!

    This combination of planes is populary in Scandinavia; if there are other combinations I'll love to hear about them.

    I personally have a few requests: some standard, boring old hangars, some aviation statues (look at Sacramento Int), and quite possibly some custom interchanges e.g. Logan, JFK, LAX, etc. Thanks for your giving up time to either help me or hurt me verbally thousands of miles from where I live.     I just want to say thanks for what is actually out there right now. I have had a blast with the different airport items that have been on the stex. I would also vote for some additional hangers and cargo facilities. I am currently working on a take off of the San Antonio Int'l Airport that I hope to have pics up pretty soon with a CJ. Anyways thanks for the work guys and keep it up. the1ref

    PS if you can make the curved terminals can you make them so you can use the RMIP with them.

    naumea: I don't make new automata models.  And converting most MSFS aircraft to props and releasing it to the public is copyright infringement.  I can't even BAT aircraft.

    However fukuda has a 737 on the STEX that can replace either the 707 or the 767 (request it and it replaces the RJ-85).

    Ace is working on a 747 prop (he is BATting it).

    topcliff: hangars I'm thinking about them, aviation statues i could maybe get to work (if I could BAT a DC-3!), and custom interchanges I can't do as 1. it doesn't relate with airports and 2. I am not an NAM modder!!!3.gif  You can post the custom interchange request in the NAM request thread though.

    the1ref: As I said hangars will be in the works, I could maybe work on a modular cargo terminal set (though I have no knowledge of any cargo terminals!)

    I may make curved terminals using in-game props in a planned modular terminal set (A re-release of the unsuccesful project during the early days).

    I downloded a sign pack for airlines but i would like the see airline textures to go wityh the signs.

    and more downlodable diferent airplanes please.

    Well I am working on more airplane re-skins, however aircraft is a problem--I do not have the skill to make aircraft in the BAT, even if I did GMAX wouldn't be enough (I would need 3ds max which costs money), and converting MSFS planes for SC4 use is copyright infringement.

    Well, technically because they are gmax based, they are licenced for usage under the freeware agreement that accompanies Gmax, so there's no real legal issue invovled, because any designer cannot show damages for the improper usage of the material, and if they could, the gmax parent company would have good claim to it.

    But there's no legal issue around it.  It's really just a question of respect....and getting the source files 4.gif

    But, if you have the source .gmax or .3ds file, and it was legally obtained, you own usage rights to it as well (barring conditional distribution which then only applies to .3ds files).  I know there was a site way back when that distributed .gmax models for flightsim, and were actually released as public domain, but I can't think of the site....

    Also, I've mentioned this elsewhere and couldn't find where, but someone may want to check with the projectAI team (www.projectai.com) to see if they would be willing to allow the models to be used for SC4...Given the philosophy of the particular team (freely expanding the realism of flightsim to all users), I would assume they'd be happy to oblilge for another game.
