I've searched all the forums for instructions on how to get custom MP3 files playing; they all say put them in the /radio/mayor folder.  I've done this, and they still don't work.  I even renamed them to take out all the spaces and strange characters like the '.  Nada.  I've verified that my sound options tell it to play custom songs.  Nothing.  I even unchecked all the default songs.  Still nothing.  (Argh!)  Also, I do have that zero byte file sitting there outside the mayor folder.

I'm wondering if this has to do with the fact that I installed sc4 on my D: drive rather than my C: drive, because I didn't have enough space left on C: .  Have any of you installed sim city 4 on a drive that isn't C, and if so, have you been able to get your custom mp3 files to play?

Oh, and I actually have Sim City 4 deluxe, so it includes rush hour. 4.gif

Well, the custom music files can still play regardless of drive letter.

Hm. So my version is just being picky?

    Thanks for the reply. 4.gif

On my old computer, I had SC4 on drive E:, The plug-in folder on D: and Windows98 on C: and the swap file was on drive F: (...I had 4 physical drives... One was a SCSI). Putting the music in the folder you're supposed to and enabling "custom tunes" worked for me... as well as disbaling the in-game music. Check to make sure you copied your music to the folder and did not just make shortcuts. Also make sure they are valid mp3 files.
