WELCOME TO:

               siggggyyyy.jpg

The Merrimack River winds its way through this county, making it quite an interesting place to build upon. We'll start off with a city called Concord. Population of around 20,000. It resides at the mouth of the Merrimack at which the river enters the ocean.

The majority of the residents reside here:

Concord High School, the only High School educational facility in the city:

Weirs Beach, heavily commercially developed, but a fun spot to enjoy at both day and night:

The very developed Downtown Concord:

The highly acclaimed Concord Country Club, covering much of the peninsula:

Of course with a location that Concord has, there is some Hotel and Resort potential, and heres the bulk of them. It includes the Akumal Resort and Yacht Club (the small building towards bottom and the dock next to it). The Embassy Suites Hotel/Resort, it was constructed after much controversy due to its size and how it would fit in. Opposition mostly created by the Akumal Resort who were undergoing plans to expand and buy the rest of the land on the peninsula. Also there is the Cruiseport, Concord is a popular destination:

Not much here but farms and a private airport:

The bulk of the Industy and a Seaport:

Well thats all for today. More to come! Comments, Suggestions etc.  are appreciated!

Great start on your new CJ! I love that water texture and that golf course is amazing! Particularly from the zoomed out shot. Well done! I'm looking forward to more!

Very nice job!  It all looks great!  You certainly put a lot of time into that golf course!  I see they can even play at night there with those huge light towers!  Keep up the great work!

nice city, it would be fun to play golf at night. Did you get the name Merrimack from the confederate ship in the Civil War? Me being from VA, you just notice these things.

    Thanks for the comments!

Anarchy- Thanks! So you like big cities that aren't constructed? Thats confusing to wrap your brain around! Haha, i know what you mean. You like cities that start off small and you watch them grow.

kant01- Thanks! I forget who made the golf course set but it great!

Battlecat- Thanks! I know it may look like I put a lot of time into it, but really I spent like 5 min well actually leveling everything and creating that peninsula took some time, but  i just randomly placed the golf lots, put some trees in and you got yourself a golf course. Oh yeah and those light towers, i'll get you a night shot, they work good.

SCDawg- Thanks! It would be fun to golf at night. I got the name Merrimack from the County I live in. I got the name Concord from the city i live in! I've never heard of that ship though.

Diamond Dave66- Glad you like it!

eupholic- Thanks, I spent some time landscaping and building that area!

jacqulina- Thanks, glad you like it!

If you didn't notice i got a little crazy with those light towers, I will tone them down next update!

Well you definitely make me want to whack a few golf balls!

The logo insets on the upper left hand corners are pretty cool.

Also, I plead newcomerness, (which sometimes can take some courage 43.gif) ), but what are the pole things throughout your city? They kind of look like windmills w/out the vanes, but my guess is that they are lights.

Not bad. I'd like to see a few more closeups, and the grid appears in a few shots, but over all a good start. Looking forward to tomorrow's update.

Thanks for the comments! Yes the pole things are lightowers, and i went a little crazy putting them everywhere. But for this update i deleted quite a few.

    UPDATE 2- THE HIGHWAY

After much controversial deliberation throughout the city, it was agreed upon to create an interstate type system so Concord could effectively connect to its neighbors. The highway was designed to be low key, it tunnels under all development, and only comes up for on and off ramps. And was also built to help ease the congestion on the single lane bridge that currently stands.

Here is an updated pic of Weirs Beach, I added piers, i think it helped the look a bit.

ALSO as promised here is a night shot of the golf course

Thats it! Hope you like it.

    Comments/Suggestions etc. appreciated!

the highway is a good idea, but that slope on the highway in the 3rd to last pic is pretty radical!

oh, and i can see why you named it after your hometown

    no worries 44.gif

    Hey Mrkeacher -

A really nice first update! That night shot of the golf course is really great and I love your coastal development with all the piers and navy docks.

And I love how your highway comes out of the ground briefly to add some connections and then goes back underground - that was a really nice touch.

    Keep up the good work!
