I made a giant screenshot of they city I'm current working on - Den Zeijl. A giant resolution is a high resolution image of the complete map in full zoom.

http://dw.filecabinet.nl/simcity4_giant_screen_den_zeijl_3000.zip

Den Zeijl is my first city since the format of my PC (by Vista, file migration didn't work >.< ). It is not of a special beauty, but it is a metropolis of continuing development and it had some nice landmarks.

Entrance towers                Office towers near the Casino

Monument on the campagne at the west of the map             Development

Here is the giant screen shot. For updates, check back here (current version: V1.0). If you see any faults, please contact me by PM.

Firefox is recommended for opening this screen.

It would be nice if other people would post giant screens too!

I tried downloading your image but your host seems to be very slow and at the moment i do not have the patience to wait for over 30 minutes. The idea is very good still, i thought about this before but it seemed to be to much work.

That one is much better. I like the city, high up in the mountains like that. But next time you should keep those udi icon's away as they are everywehere. The concept i really great and i am looking forwad to seeing more pictures like this, unfortately i do not have a city that i could use for something like this right now.

    Btw are you dutch to?

    Tnx for you comment!

    Yes I'm Dutch 4.gif

How do I remove teh udi icon's in SimCity? I planned to remove them manually with Photoshop -> version 2, because I didn't know they were removable 3.gif Would've been much easyer.

I don't think you will see more of this city, because shortly before taking the screens, it started to detoriate (it's a too bad infrastructure for such a metropolis). But I will make some screens of cities, which will be much nicer too 2.gif

Many CJ'ers do often have large size pictures. Though most just tend to use them very sparse because of the size limits of the site. They limit the large pictures to the region shots and such.

a lot of use, have for a while used mosaics when we want larger pictures but without having to link somewhere else to view them, making the picture into several 800x600 pictures.

most of the detail you can see in the larger pictures can be seen by using a closer zoom level.

for ease when doing updates, I made a custom action and assined it to the F2 button that resizes all my PNGs taken in game to 800x600. Its just simplistic that way...

most folks dont mind clicking a link once and a while to see region pictures or something special....but it can get a but repeditive to do so for an update that say contains 10 pictures.

Though that is just a matter of taste on my part.

edit:  just wanted to add......if you plan on doing a journal, which you should consider, if you click on the minus button in the menu.....the pictures I think are so much better....the menu can be a bit distrating....to get to the camera with the menu minimized..... hit CONTROL+SHIFT+S then you can use the SPACEBAR to resize and the ENTER or left click the mouse button

Your freedom is the most expensive thing you have, even if you arn't the one that paid for it... Use it well.
