Help with Buildings

Okay so I'm like a bad newbie here. I just got a "city" with a 10 000 or so population as my biggest! I was wondering, how do you get big office buildings and nice houses and big commercial? I really want to see my city grow and not just plain houses with some mansions and apartments, small office and commercial buildings! Help anyone? Thanks a whole bunch for being a great crowd -Alex

neigborcities, a bigger population are necessesary. for big commetrcial buildings the education must be high. commercial love traffic jams and also a good accessibility. the attractivity must be high enough too. an airport is very helpful too.

To see some skyscrapers, I think you need a population of at least 20,000. Also, you need good safety, health, education, power, water and desirability coverage.

If you have Rush Hour/Deluxe, there are lower stage limits for low wealth sims, so you'll get poor skyscrapers sooner. One of the Simcity tips is 'You must grow out before you can grow up'.
