I don't think there is much difference between PC and Mac codes, but I am aware that there are different keyboard layouts between them.

Control X and command X do nothing

I know it was different because at one point I had it working, but it has been so long since I last played taht I cannot recall.

control x only works when your pointer is a white round thing with a point in the center.
