  • Hey all.  My first question (I think).  Usually I can find my answers in the forums but this one seems to have stumped the search engine.

What is UI Translucency?  Do I need it turned on or off?

What are the effects of both choices?

Thanks in advance for the (what I am sure to be) quick and useful info.

Translucency - the quality of allowing light to pass through diffusively. syn. Semitransparency.

UI - User Interface. All the nice little windows and graphs and queries.

UI translucency allows the User Interface in SimCity to be partially transparent. It's totally a graphical deal and is not absolutely necessary. I know for sure that disabling it won't make the default queries and graphs look bad, but i'm not so sure about custom made queries and such. So, if your computer doesn't lag much with it on, I suggest leaving it on. Again, it's purely an eye-candy issue.
