The tools from Maxis (incl. BAT) require an installation of the windows version of Sim City. Otherwile they cannot be installed.

You can drag el-rail through only inside the LOT itself but not over puzzle pieces. If it does not work, you should try to bulldoze the station and re-build it.

Sorry, to bug you guys with my problem, but I am just so frustrated. I've tried everything and I just can's get the puzzle pieces in SC4. The button is there. I click the button, it pauses for a minute as if loading. I hover the cursor over tile, the outline turns whit but the cursor is still red. Does it matter if there is anything else in the ModFiles folder to do with the GLR mod? Does it matter if I download the mod alpha or the full package? I hope I don't sound like a $%&^!, but please help...

Try removing every custom download from both of you plugins folders except of the current NAM and the GLR mod and see if it works. Maybe there's still some old version of a mod buried somewhere in another folder (when dragging & dropping files in the explorer, it's likely you accidentially dropped something into another folder where it isn't supposed to be).

I did as you said Andreas and the GLR mod and Cycledoggs mod (Which I previously couldn't get to work either) now worked. I realised that these two mods were the only thing in the programfiles/maxis/simcity/plugins folder as opposed to the mydocuments/simcity/plugins folder, so I moved all my other plugins into the first one and guess what? They didn't work anymore. Is there any known confliction with the GLR and Cycledoggs mod?

None that I could think of... I have all lots, BATs and mods in the My Documents plugins folder (with appropriate subfolders, esp. for the mods that depend on each other, such as the NAM and the GLR mod), and everything works as intended.

Is this Japanese train, modded for glr, available somewhere? Or is it something someone's modded for their own use? What about the other two trains on that site that look like trams - the type 3950 - green liner and especially the Hirodhima Dentetsu?

Actually, this train is part of the TVM MOD on the GLR homepage. More tram trains may be added but only if the creator gives an OK.

Actually, I only know japanese trams and not many japanese modellers speak english or reply on requests.

Got it - thanks. BTW, the trains I'm referring to are on the same site as the other ones you guys are already using - Astrum line, Q303, TC21, etc...

Another question - is it possible to have the tram vehicle consist of the engine and the first car of the train, rather than the engine only? Trams need to be short but would be best at two units, rather than one.

With the TVM, trains have a length as usual (3-8 cars) but because the 3D-model is nothing but a transparent pixel, you only see the engine (a tram). That's the trick.

There are only for settings depending train length in the game

    - minimum number of cars on passenger trains -> 3
    - maximum number of cars on passenger trains -> 8
    - minimum number of cars on freight trains
    - maximum number of cars on freight trains

If we make changes on the passenger train settings, that influences commute trains, el-trains and monorail trains. That's why we do not play with that. We do not want very short commute trains.

Simcity mixes cars and engines for one type of trains randomly together. That's why any freight train is a random train.

For the passenger systems, usually only one engine and one type of car is used but if there are custom cars, this works too.

So the goal of the TVM is to add more engines to the mod (if someone creates them - the goal of the TVM is not to steal the work from japanese modders) and to keep the cars on it invisible.

Another upcoming option MayorBean created is to add just an invisible car for el-trains. Then, the game mixes the invisible car with the other kind of el-car whit the result that the trains will be shorter. So, we can keep the length of commute trains as it is but shrink the effective size of el-trains

Just wanted to confirm that I had no problem installing it and it works just fine. Figured you guys probably needed some positive feedback on the mod's performance from time to time.

It definitely has some limitations due to puzzle pieces that haven't been created yet (diagonal crossings over roads, avenues and streets particularly come to mind) but I realize these things take time.

Keep up the good work - looking forward to future updates...

I see a crossroads of some kind in the pic. However, I can't seem to find it anywhere. I it part of the mod?

I have also noticed mentions about menus for the glr but all I don't seem to have them?

    Thanks in advance

The road textures are based on a european street texture MOD as far as I know (I believe Morifari made that once).

The 4-way interchange is actually not part of the GLR. Pitero created the texture and I made the puzzle piece with it. I submitted this for inclusion in future GLR version, but actually, it is in a plugin file (ZZZ_35.DAT). I uploaded this at yousendit.com but the link seems to be dead now. I don't have realy a copy of this file here, because it's the file where I store everything what I am currently working on. Actually, there are half-finished pieces inside and it is not usable.

What about the T junctions which on official site says so has been done? Is it also not part of it yet?

In the screenshots above with the two intersecting tram lines, where is that light rail station seen on the right available for download? Is it in the NAM or the GLR release?

Also, has anyone designed an articulated tram vehicle, similar in concept to transports? If someone could make something like that, then I am sold! 4.gif
