Need Help! Strange game crash.

Hello from Germany.

I have the original SimCity4 plus Rush Hour and the correct patches installed.

Every time when I start the game it takes a few minutes and then the computer crashes.

It even crashes in the overall menu.

There is only a black screen left.

Then I have to restart the computer.

My settings:

Pentium 4, 3 Ghz, 512 MB Ram

Windows XP SP2

Radeon 9800 pro AGP

Direct X9

a little more info is required to help solve this issue

do you get any error messages? or does it just go to a black screen?

if so try this.

do you hear sounds at all? what is the model of your sound card? drivers?

what drivers are you using for your video card?
