Is there a way to increase street capacity? And a mod that doesn't bring heavy traffic in the streets?

In N.A.M. (Network Addon Mod) there is an option of increasing capacity x2, x5 or x10. But it increases it in all transit networks, not only streets. I don't think there is a mod which changes capacity for streets only.

If you want to decrease traffic amount on the streets you may use bus blocker (will not allow buses to drive onto streets) or Road Top Mass Transit - there are many lots that prevent different types of transportation to access the streets.

Or you may do it totally different way - e.g. putting subway below...

If you are fresh, you can take one of the NetworkAddonMod_Traffic_Plugin... and open it in the iLive Reader.

The value (more correct: values) you want to change is called: Network Traffic Capacity. It's a serial of 13 values, one for each network type.

For more information and questions, please ask them in: Modding - Open Discussion or Modding - Transit Network , both under Custom Content. There might be some infomation in the NAM Readme file that you can use.

BTW: You can check out the files in the Network Addon Mod (NAM) by downloading the MAC version, only different from the PC-version is the installer.
