Political Setting Modd

Hi everyone ckerr094 here, just joined recently to this forum and am a huge sim city 4 fan. First I want to thank everyone who inputted to the download and exchange sections of this site, some of those Lots, Bats, tools etc are superb and have really enhanced my gameplay as regards adding new buildings, stadiums, restaurants etc. Thank You.

But onto my big question. I recently downloaded a mod about adding the rural setting report which pops up annually, I was wondering if someone could create one of these to do deal with local and national politics or lead me to a tutorial which allows me to create a modd from scratch. Thanks.

I was also wondering about this Political setting modd. I also came up with an idea of replacing default advisors with real-world ones. The game mechanics in SimCity 4 was not designed to deal with politics in depth, the developers might have just said: 'right, this is SimNation, the cities are ruled by mayors, a region is a part of SimNation', and so on.

However, I have changed the dates of national holidays where fireworks go off, and I have also sucessfully change the country's name.

Thanks for the warm welcome Constantina, yeah it would be cool if you could ditch Neil Fairbanks for Senator Kerry or Al Gore. Think your right about Maxis' take on politics though espically with the inclusion of ordiances which aren't really very complex. I PM'ed the guy responsible for the creation of the Rural Modd (brilliant piece of work) so hopefully he'll be able to tell me more once he gets back, think he's offline right now I think.

It would be great to hold elections every say 5 or 6 years locally in each town and village but I wonder how it could be done nationally as my settlements are running in different years and time periods eg. one is in 2003 and another of my cities is in 2067! Bet that'll be a nightmare for a top-modder!

Now that sounds interesting.  I have use for that.  How do I go about changing that info, or is there a mod avaiable on the STEX  that does this?  Thanks.
