Hi there! I'm a newbie to playing Sim City 4. And I do not have the Rush Hour Expansion Pack yet.

I'm curious, I saw some screenshots of a city and it has a straight/aligned coastline, how do I do that? I find it a hard time especially that your cursor will be round when you terraform... Please help

And another thing, what modds or add ons can you recommend for me, a non RH user?

Help will really be appreciated! Thank You

Hmmm...most downloads are RH only...I'm not exactly sure what is and isn't compatible with the original...it's too bad you can't use the NAM.

But...I can help with the terraforming...

First push 'g' to turn on the grid so you can see what you're doing. Then select the level tool and then push "SHIFT" + any number, lower ones(like 1-3) will give you more precise control.

Welcome, Sinjin. In addition to Facelessman's advice, you can also use the SHIFT + F1 thru F10 to adjust the speed or intensity of the terraforming. Oh, DEFINITELY get RH. You won't know how you ever got along without it. WELL worth the money.

Thanks for your encouragement everyone. I'm now on RH! 9.gif But I have a problem, where do I place the toll booths?

Directly on the roads. There are some downloads available on the STEX for putting them on streets, one way roads, etc. as well as "electronic" toll booths that create less congestion. There is also a "toll booth boost" mod that increases the revenue from the toll booths up to 5 times. Be careful if you put a toll booth in front of a residential tile...you may get a NRZ if you block the "driveway" access to the building/lot.
