    gmac_oboe: don't worry, i probably won't shut it down lol, i'm glad you like amryai 44.gif the first-person narrative thing was really inspired by turry; i thought it would make this CJ more interesting, but i might go with a more conventional approach with my next CJ.

    oroen: thanks for telling me that. i never really noticed, but my CJ does seem to be slower than most others. my pics'll be .jpg files from now on 1.gif

    lookinin: thanks! the file transfer hopefully won't be a problem. since alot of other people have done it at least i know it can be done.

    This is looking better and better! The highway looks good lined with the autumn trees, and the region looks excellent.

    Well done!

    Thanks for the comments 9.gif

    <ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//LongmireResortHotel.JPG align=baseline>

    This is the life. Two weeks of nothing but relaxation and being waited on hand and foot...but for right now, it's time for some sightseeing.

    <ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//DowntownLongmire.JPG align=baseline>

    I'm driving through one of the denser areas of Longmire. It sure is densly packed, with some pretty big buildings. This is a smallish town, but city officials want Longmire to be the center of commerce for the inland areas of the region. Well, considering it's the only real inland town for a hundred miles they're doing a good job..

    <ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//LongmireMcDonalds.JPG align=baseline>

    McDonalds has an ever-growing presence in the region.

    <ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//LeavingLongmire.JPG align=baseline>

    Well, it's time to see what the next town has to offer.

    <ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//EnteringHillsboro.JPG align=baseline>

    Hey, there's a town up ahead!

    <ahttp://img117.echo.cx/img117/6776/hillsboro6yu.jpg align=baseline>

    The bustling town of Hillsboro. One of its main attractions are the new tree-lined farms, which is a beautifying program for all the farms in the region, ordered by the Government. I don't have a problem with it, I think they look wonderful.

    <ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//DowntownHillsboro.JPG align=baseline>

    Here's downtown; not too much to see.

    <ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//LeavingHillsboro.JPG align=baseline>

    Now for the next town!

    <ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//Entering%20Kamloops.JPG align=baseline>

    Here's Kamloops, another small, insignificant but pleasant little town...

    <ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//Kamloops.JPG align=baseline>

    And here's the whole town in case you're interested. After Hillsboro, Kamloops is the second town to get tree-lined farms. The Government's been spending alot of money on beautification lately.

    <ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//Peoplefighting!.JPG align=baseline>

    Hey, what's this? Fighting? Hmph, some people can be so uncivilized...

    <ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//Leaving%20Kamloops.JPG align=baseline>

    Well, on to Columbia...

    <ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//EnteringColumbia.JPG align=baseline>

    Here we are, Columbia.

    <ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//Columbia.JPG align=baseline>

    A small town of just over 5,000, Columbia is one of the tourist centers in the region. A few years back, they were having some huge financial trouble with this town, but now Columbia is back in the black.

    <ahttps://www.simtropolis.com/idealbb/files//ColumbiaTouristtrap.JPG align=baseline>

    And here you can see why tourists love this place: the world-famous Columbia Llama Museum. There's the Llama Resort Hotel down the street too, which looks eerily similar to the hotel I'm staying at in Longmire...

    <ahttp://img32.echo.cx/img32/3039/fairview3uo.jpg align=baseline>

    And here's a summary of everywhere we've been since I moved here.

    As many of you might be able to guess, the tree-lined farms idea was inspired by Digby.

    Stay tuned!

    lookinin, jacquilina & Iknowu: thanks 44.gif

    SC4 meister: i might update tomorrow (well, make that today; it's 12:08 AM sunday where i am), but i'm not sure; i have finals from monday to wednesday and need to get some last-minute studying in. also, star wars episode 3 comes out the day after my finals, and being the huge star wars fan that i am, there might not be another update for a week because i'll be too proccupied with all things star wars to play SC4 21.gif i did play a little today though, and i made a few changes to central amryai, so i might show a few pictures of that.

    lol, MTFBWY too 44.gif

    anyway, i did manage to work on my region a bit, although i wish i hadn't; my final grades are going to suffer some. for this update, i'm not doing first person since these arent covering any of the cities i'm in.

    allemboisi33ml.jpg

    this is allemboisi, sort of the sister city to amryai. it's considerably smaller though, with only 39,000 inhabitants. recently allemboisi has been growing steadily; the population was at 30,000 only a few (sim) years ago, and the skyline was alot smaller a few (real) days ago than it is now. i also added some new low-rise neighboorhoods. in the southwestern side of town you can see Marks Field, which was recently built for those who didn't want to drive all the way into amryai to catch a flight. right now the airport is at about 60% capacity.

    plymouth9vz.jpg

    and here's plymouth, allemboisi's new western suburb. not too much to see here, although all the trees and the street layout make plymouth rather nice-looking, if i do say so myself.

    lansing5xm.jpg

    this is the small farming town of lansing, population 600.

    lakeland9qy.jpg

    and this is lansing's twin city, lakeland. like lansing, there's nothing too special here, although the road layout is quite unique.

    The next update will be in first person, and should be more extensive, but like i said earlier, it might not be for a while because of Star Wars 9.gif

    Anyway, stay tuned!

    Amryai200: Great job - looking forward to your next update! I like how allemboisi gradually flattens out from the city center - gives it a nice realistic appearance 44.gif

    okay, sorry guys, another update without pictures. i got SC4 running, and was able to get all the saved stuff onto my new computer, but i ran into a few problems. i don't know why, but 3 of my towns (river heights, port townsend, and plymouth) somehow didn't transfer onto my new computer, so i started those over. it's all back to normal now though, the towns are just a little different 14.gif

    and SC4 is waaaaay faster now, it's so awesome. i'm gonna download some new BATs now, and see if they show up (maybe CD's terrain mod, and some nice commercial growables).

    P.S. and star wars was AWESOME. blew me away. so the number of updates might not increase, since i'm on a star wars high right now.

    Well, it's back to work for me now after that nice vacation. Ugh...

    <ahttp://img41.echo.cx/img41/6466/newhome25iq.jpg align=baseline>

    Well, what a nice welcome present. My apartment is condemmed. Apparently, the influx of new residents to Amryai (it's jumped to 232,000 now from the last census) are almost exclusively high-wealth, and they need more room for them. Besides, this city is the City of Opportunity. Anyone who moves here poor gets rich, or at least well-off, eventually. Except me. Well, I found a new apartment, but I prefer my old one. Had a nicer view. But I should stop complaining. I live in a good neighboorhood, near downtown, etc...

    <ahttp://img65.echo.cx/img65/5743/amryai6yn.jpg align=baseline>

    And this is just a city view showing my new and old apartments.

    <ahttp://img41.echo.cx/img41/1566/strattonbiotech29vy.jpg align=baseline>

    And it just keeps getting better doesn't it? Yes, as you can see from the picture above, it has to do with my job. I'll just recount what happened:

    Okay, my suporvisor asked me to take some computer equipment to another room. Well, all was going well when I tripped and accidentally pushed the all the computer hardware (which was on one of those roller-thingys that looks like a self on wheels; the name escapes me right now) right out the window! And that's not all of it. My boss happened to be walking under that window. Don't worry, he didn't get seriously injured; a monitor just fell on his head and gave him a concussion. The meeting afterwards with my suporvisor was short and not so sweet; yep, you guessed it, I was fired. This is all eerily daja vu to me...

    Well, it looks like I'll be looking for a new job now. Maybe a commercial job that doesn't require carrying heavy objects, since I have a spectacularly bad record with those kinds.

    Great job! I love those custom airports, but don't forget the 800x600 limits 1.gif

    Keep up the great work!

    edit: they've since been fixed - sorry, I just didn't want to see your images deleted!
