I was wondering, did somebody ever try to do an anti-pollution city?

First, is it possible and Second , how would YOU do?

It is possible. I just built some workable landmarks and a ton of mass transit ways. NO INDUSTRY!!!28.gif
Then i built a ton of parks and a hydrogen plant.

Make just Residential and Commercial.  I would cut-off roads, so people are forced to use the mass transit.

A lot of trees.  Energy efficent plants, but you'll only have wind unless you download.

High tech count...? If it's green industries my city is anti-pollution. I have 2,5 millions of HT jobs in my region. But to do a green city you just need to don't use coal power plants and use hydrogen. To have an no-polluting incinerator, to have a nice mass transit, subway'n busses also. And to place commercial and residential zones near and your sims will be able to go work just by walking the street. And you also need nice parks. I can call that a green city. And it's really possible. I converted my city to green way and now zero of manifacturing and dirty industries and zero pollution, except for traffic...

Sure it's not possible at the begining of a city but it's possible. I made it. My population is +160 in education stats. You need that but when you have that education it's okay. You also need a big city. Do you want t see screens of my Green city...

It is possible at the beginning of the city, just download my parks with jobs mod, and have nothing but parks, civic buildings, and commercial for jobs. Soccer fields, softball fields, and beaches also make money because of my mod, so balance them with the other parks to get money, but remember to place the parks next to roads to get the jobs.

THis is a small town I just made with only parks and commercial, and there is no pollution.

I have my region called BEP (Bichel Ecology Project) Which is supposed to be a very clean city close to my vision of a clean and ecologic real world. It is going quite well, but i lack a varity of environmental friendly buildings. What i lack most is ecological farms that doesnt use chemicals and unlike the one ingame have no waterpollution. Wnother thing is self supplying houses whit solar panels connected to a fuelcell, or perhaps a heatpump like the ones in schweden that takes advanage of the earths heat even though the earth is frosen. Then i would like a mod that would ad non polluting cars, that would most likely be hydrogencars driven by fuelcells or like the one they just invented in france that drives on airpressure.

I'm currently working on a city with lots of farms, and mass transit. It's quite a pity though to get all the sims in the trains, but it seems that it works. I have little pollution, and the monthly surplus which I get, I invest in education. I hope that once the population is smart enough so I can develop commercial zones, and high tech industry ofcourse. But until then, there's a loooong way to go...

by the way, the mass transit I use are ferries, since I built my city on lots of canals. It works totally great!
