This is what i got the other day from a user called Thompson55. Since i think this message is autogenerated, it could mean that this board is vunerable for bots or other spam-things.

If you go to the PM page, you will see an option called "Banning" which allows you to block PM's from certain users. I would also report this to an administrator as this type of PM is not allowed on Simtropolis.

haha. I used to get these in my regular email a lot along with spoofs. Now i dont see um as much now that i use gmail. The funniest ones are ones for prescriptions. They tend to be written by bots that translate the same message to several different languages, and often make really bad spelling errors. Also the names of the person reffering the drug service is often generated out of a list of random words versus typical christian names.

Basically, you end up with things like "My naem is BUTTERFLY CHEESE McPHONOGRAPH. Wold U liek to buy some Viasagra, or some Vaellium, or some Vicitan? Call MR. MUGU in Lagos at 1-900-234-323"

Too bad there are spambots getting into ST. I thought with the upgrade maybe there was added protection but as usual the haxx0rs are quicker to update their bots...

Either way, please ignore them as it may be a scam as well. Report any spam to an moderator or administrator at the next oppitunity. There is an option to ban spammers from sending you messages, but I prefer to keep away from this option. I wonder if Simtropolis had a bulk folder like Yahoo! Mail?
