png and jpg files

I don't think this has been addressed before, but do .png and .jpg files HAVE to be stored in the plugins folder? It just seems that if they don't have anything to do with game play, you could probably store them elsewhere so there aren't so many files for the game to sort through when starting up.

Hello jlmiksch - no you do not store .jpg, jpeg, or .png files in the plugins folder. You should have as little as posible that is not needed in the Plugins folder. Most images will be in the album folder - I keep mine in a folder out side of the main SimCity4 directory. this helps me with organizing as well as helping the game run better. Your assumtions above are correct, why did this become a qestion for you?

The five PNG files that have the name "Background3D" in their name should stay in the plugins folder. These are used for the background behind the city tile you are playing on.
