garfiedude, there might be more, i think there are some freight lines under the parking garage 29.gif

GoaSkin, thanks alot for that link, i really didn't want to go through the japanese bat page to find them.

this is my first attempt at custom graphics, i still have to change the roof a bit though (not sure what to do exactly though since the model isn't exactly the same):

btw, i'm making this for light rail/elevated rail trains because i like the tgv too much.

    suggestions are more than welcome.

Yeah - this is the building I'm talking about. It looks pretty good, and nearly finished.

ardecila, i'm going to have to alter it a bit though because there are varying elevations, so it's going to look a bit different, i'll probably add tables to it, and some other things that aren't really there.

GoaSkin, yeah, i forgot about that, do you know if you can add more than one train file, i.e. having both the cercanias trains and tgv trains on heavy rail tracks?

i think the graphics are finished now:

JEC - I see the issue with the elevations. I don't mind waiting for awhile. Thanks.

As for making two trains - I believe it's possible. It becomes a little more technical, though.

Just give the S3D model, PNG icon, and Exemplar a new TGI address. Right-click the file and choose generate new Instance. Then take this number and give it to the other files. Finally, change the properties in the Exemplar so that they point to the new Instances.

I told you it was technical. 3.gif

I've started a modd that will make this much easier. It adds a third kind of heavy rail - Intercity Service. That way, trains like TGV and ICE can be seperate from commute trains. They can even be linked to different types of stations!

Two different kinds of trains aren't really possible.

You can add additional passenger rail cars and engines but the game forms mixed trains then (engines and cars of the various trains will be mixed randomly, like a freight train).

last friday, i recieved an error on my computer. there was no apparent reason, i had no viruses, no spam, plenty of space on my harddrive...no problems at all.

yet, my computer failed to boot, something, somehow became corrupted. Only two files were on backup (which is all i could fit on the memory stick): the fontani di trevi and my newer version of the turning torso.
i always save the latest bats i worked on onto that memory stick. but since i just got back, i was mainly working with 3ds max on my laptop, not on the bat on my desktop.

the estacion was the third latest bat i worked on, meaning it did not save, and it is gone forever, just like everyother bat i had created since my last pc troubles.

good ol' dell didn't provide a windows operating cd, so i am still waiting on that to reinstall every program i need to run it.

in conclusion. no estacion de atocha, no arena aufschalke, no vastra hamnen, no carlsberg brewery, nothing 26.gif.

47.gif ok, i am calm now. currently, though, i have been working with 3ds max on the new barajas airport and 88 wood street (all the night lights are gone though).

i will probably just start a new, generic thread for all my bats (when i feel comfortable. school has just started as well, so that may delay many things.

i would also like to apologize for not finishing earlier, this would not have been a problem then. sorry. 15.gif

btw, for those at capitalsimcity.com, for some reason i get alot of spam onto my computer from going there, so i am taking a lot of precautions now with recent events and probably won't post there because of it, but i will still send my bats over there.

Well, I'm very sorry to hear that, but why on earth didn't you make a backup on CD-R or something similar, assuming your memory stick isn't large enough for all files? I couldn't sleep well if I knew I had not made a backup of all files I created, and even if I don't backup every day, the occasional CD-R is better than nothing...

i do backup everything every 6 months. but i have never had this many problems with desktop computers before.

the first problem was just because there was too much dust, the computer overheated. the second time, somehow i got a virus in the first couple of months (i know exactly how though, so i won't make that mistake again), this time i have had the computer for less than 6 months.
completely new, nothing wrong, top of the line, etc. the was absolutely no reason for it to get corrupted so early, and it has never happened before.

i do have a backup cd from both times before. the first i don't remember what was on it, the second, all the bat files were corrupted when i loaded them again. this time, there was no chance of retrieving anything.

so, i do have backups, and i do make them; it was just something completely unexpected that should never have happened.

    but i have learned a lesson...again. the third time's a charm 34.gif

JEC I'm very sorry to hear about this tragic loss. Is there any way in the world that if you reinstall Windows the data will still be retrievable?

Computers make our lives so easy and so hard at the same time.22.gif26.gif

I'm terribly sorry and deeply saddened to hear about all of your computer problems. Don't get angry for not releasing them earlier, just think of these bad events as creative destruction. You can always rebuild, bigger and better than before.

dells are well known for hard drive failures, i would do research on dells, they have lots of problems with them, and if you use linux maybe you can recover the files from your hard drive.

Where can i get those trains? I want to have the cercanias in my city.

I am not having problems with capitalsimcity, but there is no problem. We'll follow your bats here.

Sorry and thank you for your work.
