Sim City 4 has been running mormal for a very very long time.

But suddenly: In the old city center (pop 40.000) with masses of parks in a city region of 600.000 my major rating suddenly dropped from +100 to -60. I have never thought much about major rating because it always stays at +100 in my cities. So I realized this after I have saved the game. I have played sc4 for a long time, and I know what influences the major rating.

I have not downloaded any mods for several months, so there must be a lot on the stex that have caused this. But I am only using popular downloaded lots.

And now I found it impossible to get out of major rating at -60. I have tried to maximize the yimby-effects, removed an nearby airport tram, put in bunches of police stations, hundreds of parks. And it only increases to -40. You would thought it was a nice place to live, the yearly riots makes no sense.

Is it possible to make a plop or a mod or anything else that will put the major rating back to normal? Any other suggestions? I have been playing a little too much on this region to just delete this city, manually reconstructing all terrain details and start over. Can anyone help?

Try decreasing taxes, or improve your education and health system(s).

Make sure none of the sector is funded below 100% if possible. You may have to get in depth to find out which civic building is underfunded.

Business deals are known to affect your rating for the worse. If you have any structures like this, destroy it if possible. Jails can also affect ratings, so place it away from residential zones.

If youwanna safe the city... have to find the offending lot or mod that caused it though

could obliterate...might keep the terrian...but you have to start a new city going that route

Might have to face the fact...could be possible the city is lost too (do you have a back up of the city ?)

hard to mod something that your not sure what the heck your moddding...15.gif

til you find this lot or mod that did cause the problem...your running the risk of it happening to the city again...or some other city

check the graphs...desirability...the mayor rating graph...see if you can locate the sorce of the sudden drop...look for super red areas

To Tolomar: Thanks for answering. I am quite sure this must be a growing lot. But it is impossible to locate to lot, 50 % of the city is dark red. I tried to delete every lot, nothing happens.

Is there any known growable lots that have caused such a problem before? On another old thread on the stex one had a similar problem, and he thought it could have been the parish rowhouses. I indeed downloaded these lots just some days before the major rating collapsed. But these are often- downloaded lots, could this really be the reason? Anyone?

I had the same problem with a city with about 70,000 sims and the mayar rating dropped big time. I even made a post about it but not much help. I fought through the rough times as population hit bad. Then the mayor rating slowly went back up to hunderd and population levels returned. I am not sure but I think it is the game. All I know that it took a long time before the levels went up. Maybe on how old your city is causes this I am not sure. There is a building you can download that tells you were the worst mayor rating is and you can fix it. Again it takes a long time to fix it. It worked for me, so see if  it works for you.

anouther thought, maybe a long shot...have you been playing that city for a while and not updated the connecting cities?  check to see if the commute time has jumped up recently
