Ok, so I downloaded this map : (The Taipei Metropolitan area") and was wondering how do I import this to simcity. I Have tried it and came up with empty water tiles. However, I do know that the map is 16=bit? (Please correct if I'm wrong) and know that it can't import 16bit. The problem is that the file I got was a greyscale .Png image. I got the simcity 4 Mapper and the discription about the map said that I had to create it? Which I don't really understand. Any tips?

    Cheers,

Just tried it and seemed to be okay.

    • You first need to download and unzip the file to somewhere on your computer - I usually just use the desktop.
    • Run SC4 Mapper and select Create Region. This will open a window where you need to select the file types.
    • You need to select "16 bit png" button not the "Grayscale Image" one. That will open a window where you need to navigate to the folder you downloaded and select the TAIPEI file in the Filename space and the "config" file for the config.bmp space.
    • Once those are filled, select OK. The map should open in the Mapper window after a few seconds.
    • After that, select Save Region. That will save the region to your SimCity 4/Region folder.

Also, you might want to be sure your plugins folder is empty before this. You might have a hieght mod in there that is causing the elevation changes. I don't remember for sure if that will affect maps created from Terraformer, but just to be safe...
