Recap of the main forum rules

Hey there Mayor! Glad to see you haven't forgotten about us. Sure, we may not be as popular as those folks over in SC4 or CXL, but we still know how to have a good time. But you know Mayor, you're not the only one here, so there are a few ground rules everyone needs to follow so everyone can enjoy their stay. These are all in the General Rules page, but I'll cover the immediately relevant ones here for you. It’s up to you to keep up with the rules.

First of all, to stay here, you have to have become Mayor legally. We'll be having none of that piracy stuff here!

Second, we all know you’re proud of your hometown, and you should be, but that’s no reason to go putting people down just for where they were born or what they believe. We’re a friendly bunch here (kid friendly too: there’s no rule saying a 13-year-old can’t be Mayor, so keep it PG-13) but we’re only friendly towards those who are friendly in return. If someone spots you acting up, well, may the Mods have mercy on your soul.

Even the best of Mayors sometimes need to ask how to deal with some aspects of their cities. But no-one really wants to help someone who doesn’t have a good title. No-one wants to live in a town called Anthrax, so don’t give your threads titles like “Help!” or “lolwut”. My apologies if your town is called Anthrax, Mayor, I meant no offence.

Last of all (at least, of the ones I’m reiterating here), if you do see someone acting up, just press the report button and say what they’re doing that’s wrong. Don’t confront them yourself! A message will be sent off to the mods and they’ll deal with them lickety-split. Of course, just disagreeing with the person isn’t just cause to call a mod in. If they find that there’s nothing against the rules with the post, well, chances are you’ll get a warning.

Well, now we’ve covered the basics of the ground rules, enjoy your stay! If you’ve got any questions about this forum just ask them here. If they’re about a particular game, look for its thread. If it doesn’t have one, then make one. Make sure you’ve got the right forum though!

    City-Building-Games-Specific Rules

23/06/2011 - We already have a thread for theories and the like about SimCity 5. We do not need any more ones. The thread to go to is this one. As of now, all others will be locked or merged.

Cori Edit: SimCity 5 has been released, is now referred to as SimCity (2013), and any discussion for it now goes here.

To search for the ideal city today is useless. For all cities are different. Each one has its own spirit, its own problems, and its own pattern of life. As long as the city lives, these aspects continue to change. Thus to look for the ideal city is not only a waste of time but may be seriously detrimental. In fact, the concept is obsolete; there is no such thing.
