Show us your most unique and creative transportation network!
jmjselect replied to Dr. Neitchskrimfrauwnmoya's topic in SC4 Showcase
@special eddie: yeah it's a mosaic, I needed the extra bit of highway there so you could see the whoel thing better. and yeah I had to make the highway straight to fit in the two cities. didn't intend it to end up like that but it came out much better than I thought it would be. -
does anyone know the altitude of the region view? it looks like your looking at the city from a plane? anyways whats the altitude?
-
I was just trying to figure out the altitude of the region view, like if you in an airplane looking down on a region, how high are you?
-
I was on the forums and noticed this glitch. The "big dig" topic was in another category but was supposedly in the city journals section I don't know if this is anything significant or if it's just a glitch. just thought that i'd give a heads up

Something wrong I see with the SCJU
jmjselect replied to jmjselect's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
@spa yeah the scju uses ideas from all over but they claim that they borrowed they're main structure/ideas from the EU/UN while not giving credit to the US. 2 the term thing: sorry I didn't explain this more in depth -US has a "president" with 2 terms. -SCJU has a "president" with 2 terms. I was asking what country(who's a member of SCJU) had a "president with 2 terms, since they were borrowing ideas from their own countries. I'm not trying to say america rules the world, just give credit where credit is due, if that wasn't the intent then some things need to be changed cause me and others see the same thing, america is embedded deep within the scju(structure) and, once again, it says this but looks like that. edit: @ underground: the nations thing: I've seen many of your journals, most aren't nations they're cities honestly I don't know if anything bad will happen? I hope it wont. I like the idea of unity for a greater good. but from my perspective and others around me it just makes the scju look bad. When's the scju site gonna be up? -

I don't know much about what your asking for, I've never used an image converter but here's a start. http://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla%3Aen-US%3Aofficial_s&hl=en&q=png+to+jpeg+converter&btnG=Google+Search -
Something wrong I see with the SCJU

Originally posted by: CDI_spythe website is down 'cause 6underground (we call him 6U) is working on it, I believe. Hope this helps. quote> oh gee thanks lol, jk yeah but under the scju(and correct me if i'm wrong) the president of scju is limited to 2 consecutive terms and not the prime minister, which scju doesn't have. and the vice president is the assistant to the president and not the prime minister. that's america. what other country/union has a "president" that can only serve 2 consecutive terms? the harm thing: it says one thing and it looks like another. especially if its political(virtually). I think some peps here said that it's not political(correct me if i'm wrong) but people who look at the scju, who don't know what it is, could start labeling it incorrectly and that could harm scju. -

@Jerebannus XVI: economics: The US does protect the poor, just not the same way as the EU/UN. The free-trade thing, America has had free-trade between the states for a while now. Politics: kyoto-I don't want this to become a political debate. but i'm sure bush fully understands it. Military: would a war between scju members really do anything? I just dont understand a virtual war in a conventional way. the nuke thing: yeah I read a little on that. don't really have much to say on that topic though. Sensitive Issues: In america you can marry(wether i would be between a man/woman, man/man, or woman/woman) but it just wont be recognized by the government(mainly for tax reasons). but many churches in america marry gay couples. abortion will never be illegal in america euthanasia: this is something i'm not too knowledgable on, I don't think you can have an assisted suicide but if your terminally ill, in america, you can constent to withdraw from any futher life saving treatment, unless your under 18 without parental consent or if your under the care of anyone(elder). drugs: well we all know america's stance on drugs. media: freedom of the press. well I could give the sensitive issues to the eu/un but freedom of the press was from america. @ fox: alot of american ideas were taken, but not given credit too. If credit was given there would be no problem but in the wiki it says that the scju was basically structured like the eu/un and gives no credit to american ideas. @6-underground(congrats on being the pres) term limited office for the president is taken from america(and it just happens to be the same amount of terms too, 2) president was taken from america too. the president of america isn't really representing "america" either. america is a union of states, he responsibility is protecting the constitution(which very similar to your pres protecting laws). If each member of the SCJU is like a state of the US, then maybe you can see what i'm seeing. because size wise a city is in no way comparable to a nation. the elected president chooses his vice pres and the vice pres's job, thats taken from america too. i'm not too knowledgable about ministries but its very similar to americas secritaries(sp?) secritary of the state, secritary of defense, secritary of .... even the membership thing is very similar to how states(remember the city-state thing) were accepted to the union. Alot of these things were american ideas that america pioneered, some I don't know, and some where ideas from others. but when I read thru some of the scju stuff it screams of america. hey 6underground can you give me a working link to scju's offical website? I found a link in the wiki but it's dead. and i'd like to do some more research on this. Thanks for the comments everyone, i'm in no way trying to be negative about the scju or anything like that, it's just that it says this but looks like that and many of my co-workers(I showed them simtrop and they also saw the scju thing) see what I see. this could potentially harm the scju and I just like to point it out so that no harm comes if any would. -
If you don't use NAM you sc4 experience is DAMNED. The only thing that is bad about it is that you can't make diagnal road/street/avenue/highway/rail/bla bla bla connections any more. BUT it's well worth it
-
what the hell kinda game do you have? that doesn't look like sc4 Wow this is one of the nicest cities I have seen here on simtrop. a couple of questions: 1. how big is your plugins folder? 2. what kind of trees are you using? 3. can you give us region pics? 4. what does Llacentro Plato mean? Just incredible............... my jaw isn't functioning correctly. WOW

Future of SimCity Official Discussion Thread
jmjselect replied to Compromise's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
hey I just thought of this. What if EAgames releases both the sims and sim city 5 at the same time?(just speculation). It could be kinda like how simcopter was to sc2000. You could make a city in sc5 and then live in it in The sims. you could travel(cars, walk, planes, copters, boats, trains,....) you could upload your city for others to live in too. wouldn't that be something. EDIT: oh and like in sc2000 how "at this date" "highways" are now available" and "at that date" airports are now aviable(like in real life. instead of having everything open at once. this was something that was overlooked imo. -
Something wrong I see with the SCJU
jmjselect replied to jmjselect's topic in SimCity 4 General Discussion
no i'm not saying in particular policies and such. but how it is setup and its structure. and after some more reading, it seems like a combination with all three(eu, un, usa) with the us's idealogoies being in there with a strong presence. I don't know if i'm reading what others want to contribute or if it's SCJU's. but what I have gathered from the different sites(simtrop and your forums) alot of things are not clear. Is the offical homepage something that would clear things up? if so is it working? I try to go to it but it gives a "can't find" page. ***EDIT: oh by the way, nice city. very innovating, the trees. ***EDIT2: well yeah there is some ideologies of the US in there too. example: rights to bear arms.,....... isn't the UN/EU anti-guns, while the US is pro-guns it says this but looks like that. are you this or that? or are you this and that. because it is very clear to me that when you go thru the info provided that the US is in there(whether it would be policies, structure, politics,.....) I don't know it just seems that you aren't labeling it correctly and it just seems wrong(I don't know how to describe it). I'll do some more reading on your sites and see if I can learn anything new. -
Welcome To Dalton This is a Mini Journal. It was originally gonna be a whole region but I messed it up beyond repair. Luckly this city wasn't touch. So I thought that I would show it before I delete the whole region. It is a Medium sized city. The region was Moutainous boardering a large body of water. Directly south of this city was the "center" of development, heavy commercial and a large bed community sorrounding it. Dalton is where the Moutainous area started away from the water. Dalton is a small farming community. bla bla bla to the pics. These are pics of the simple life in a small town. And that's it, so what do you think?
-
no sorry, that city was in finished form and then It got deleted because of some difficulties with the region.
-
wow, sorry to hear about the bad luck, how did the crack get there? I should copy my cds, so if that happens I could still play
-
I don't know of any mods to do what you ask but why not build a whole bunch of power plants, or costly buildings, to offset the increase?
-
ooooooooooo..... nice sea port, I like how it jets out from the shore like that. I don't know if you intended to be like this but it looks like a military base. cool I like, keep it up oh and thanks for the opera building, it was just what I was looking for, a big building. thanks.
-
hmmmmm...... Come on folks lets contribute to this thread here's some more from me. same pic, different view
-
Okay I guess i'll be the first to contribute to this thread, ??? I'm not quite sure what this is suppose to be either so i'll just post a preview on a region i'm making now. The last Thumbnail at the top: Satelite Drive is the black road, Mid-Town Plaza is the bludge(sp?) on Satelite Drive, and the Dover Dome is at the right(where Satelite ends). The Dover Dome complex also includes a huge parking lot, the gray box at the lower right. ***Edit: Nevermind, pic works now

Welcome to Wood Country. Currently Under Construction This will be my Journal showing off something very different from what you regularly see here on simtropolis.com. My goal was to create something as different from the rest and the first thing that I thought about was the grid. So I did away with it. I'm trying to create "Regional Realism". The actual cities themselves will look very jagged, sorry but there's no way around this. so anyways, too the pics. ***UPDATE 5 PREVIEW*** The beginnings of construction on the Rail System. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------sorry, i'll organize everything up soon. Here's Stockwood----- Here is a sat pic of Stockwood And here is a thing I put together(I don't know what it would be called) Stockwood is a small quite town with a small town feel. Downtown Stockwood is the main attraction with its award winning park, Johnson Park. Johnson Park was named after Charles Johnson who founded the city back in the 1890's. He liked the bend in the Clear Water River so much that he decided to sell his farm and lay down his roots here. After many peaceful years living at this spot he decided to share the gem and invited folks from the nearby city of Benton to see the beauty of the hardwoods and pristine clear water of the Clear Water River. And the spot boomed for the next couple of years untill the big crash. From then till now it's a secluded spot where people stay and melt their worries away. I will be showing other cities as I build them, so enjoy till the next update
-
Yeah I know they're jagged as **** there's no way around this, I'm focusing on the Big picture rather than the small details, i'm thinking differently here.
