I'm sorry but this building looks like a butt crack to me ilikehotdogsalike, it's a real eye sore to the city. other than that 2 thumbs up, I like the city alot. Can we get some more downtown views, it looked really great

@ the person who said atl doesn't have internation influence: -the busiest airport in the world, also the terminal to america, (and for us the terminal to the world) -centers for disease control -the most recognizable consumer product in the world(that can be found on all 7 continents) coca-cola -the largest telecommunications hub(see airport) -a whole host of technology corps(if you've used a computer, atlanta has had a part in it) no international influence? and that's just what I can think of off the top of my head

This is what I used, PEG alley ket, and put it right next to an elevated Highway. this is the result. I don't have enough room to move the alley thing one space over to stop this. Is this a bug i'm gonna have to live with? I really would like traffic to move along the ave right next to the problem. that road is just a side street not really suppose to be used except to go to the commerical on the road.

@paperboy another use for the mile markers is for emergencies. in case your stuck on the highway, you can call 911 can quickly determine you approximate location. where are you? "westbound on highway 1, milemarker 349 ------------------------ we've made the transition from the old sequential exit numbering to mile numbering in atlanta a couple of years ago(so in this area it's relatively new) I never really paid any attention to the numbers(sequential or mile) so i doesn't really matter to me. but the mile way does make more sense. --------------------------- @ ILL Tonkso aren't you guys driving on the wrong side of the road? lol

-statue of liberty -effiel tower(because I like the spinning light on top) -that HUGE lighted fountain in chicago(sorry forgot the name, but the one with all the different colors in the park)

historic cities in my county(6 around 3-7thousand each) are all located on rail lines(we have 2 thru our county) the smaller ones have 1-2 big industries, for example buford, ga: had a huge leather company that built some of the best saddles during the cowboy era. the bigger ones has alot the center of the cities is centered around the industry and businesses, industry on the rail and commercial right next to it(sometimes on the rail along with industry, sometimes next to away from the rail). the road layout was pretty much griddy and lots were very VERY small, like one block would hold 4-6 houses each and the streets are very narrow. lots of streets. but it would be commercial and industry in the cities center surrounded by residential, then past that farms.

yeah I knew about the bus stop thing, didn't know about the access thing. I don't have much highway traffic(the city just got started) but would it allow people to exit the highway onto the alley at that point?

Atlanta: -Atlanta will continue to grow as it's the economic powerhouse of the south(USA) -More industry related to tech will locate/re-locate to the metro area, since we are big on it here already(we're one of the most important communications hub) -it will spread out more(our metro area already reaches into alabama) but also more attention will be towards the city itself. mainly the mid-town and buckhead(which is our up-town unoffically). we will have a denser and more populas dt/mt/ut -medical advances with continue to grow(home to the cdc, center for disease control). and many award winning hospitals around the metro area. -will be home to one of the largest number of rich people(there was a recent stat that indicated that atlanta will have the most growth in rich people(moving wise) -the busiest airport in the world(hartsfield-jackson) will grow and continue to hold the title(since we are the transportation hub of the US) -will be home to the smartest/richest/handsomest/most-liked person in the world(me!) -will still continue to be important in the music industry(i think hip-hop wise, 60% of all album sales are of artists of atl) -our movie industry(we're just getting started, but there's much hope) will grow and be home to many movies. -atlanta motorspeed way will be upgraded to handle speeds of up to 350mph. downsides -our highway system will be heavily clogged(CLOGGED, looks like dogged), even after upgrades and additions -Will still be home to many redneck jokes and stories -toll boths will be added to various roads and highways -our illegal immigration population will grow(if we don't get a handle on it) GA is a popular place for em. -crime will go up -atlanta will loose the title of "meanest city towards homeless" <--in terms of how much money the city will give them -we will still produce mentally-ill people like cynthia mckiney(sp?) -we will problay loose trees(not that i'm a tree hugger, but they're nice especially when it's so dense like in atl)

sorry for the double post. but also I forgot to mention, what is up with the traffic crossing over onto the road from the avenue? you can see it in the middle pic the best, the green arrow going diagnally across the ave into the road, but there's no access for it to cross over.

honestly they are both fugly. but if one was to be built in my city, I would choose the dubai one.

this is sort of related to city building so i'll just play it safe and post it here. I'm making this city for something. here's a highway interchange, 4 onramps are semi-completed and I still have to make 4 more onramps that go above the top of the interchange and 2 onramps for feeder roads. what do you think so far? the line below the interchange is 100 feet for distance reference.

BUS STOPS I have a city with a population with around 30,000-40,000. with about 90% of streets(the grey ones) and I have hella bus stops. all the roads are green and all the commute times are very short(even for those who travel from one side of the city(med sized) to the other end to commute to a neighbooring city).

I don't know about more people becoming poorer, I'll just assume so, but at the same time record number of americans are becoming richer. http://money.cnn.com/2005/05/25/pf/record_millionaires/ I don't know if this statement is true anymore(it was back in the late 90s): an american living at the poverty level(where a person classifies as being poor) lives a life with a better standard of living than the "average"(middle class) european. the thing to remember about the above statement is "standard of living". I'm pretty sure it sitll holds up today, people in the us(poverty) have cars, mobile phones, tvs(big), microwaves, hvac, computers,........ ------------------------------------------------------ topic: 1. atlanta DRY plus on top of that the BRILLANT government emptyed out WAY WAY WAY WAY to much water out of the largest supply of water(lake lanier) for atlanta. the metro area is something like 5 million peps, so most of the counties in the metro had to announce a drout(sp?) then recently a judge ordered that more water be emptyed out for alabama. government at it's finest
