Crash on loading one city only
KiraDarkRose replied to Lexx_NL's topic in SC4 Bugs & Technical Issues
Are you by chance using the SWAP Airport plugin? There is a known problem with it that will cause your city not to load. A fix is on its way but as far as I know once it crashes you won't get it back. The only way I know is by restoring your drive to an earlier state. -
SC4Tool - Reference and Visual Editor for BATs and Lots
KiraDarkRose replied to Andreas Roth's topic in SC4 BAT & Lot Workshop
Need Help... I have a problem with database coming up in Analyser/Importer. I have deleted netframe and sc4tool. Reloaded netframe, installed the newest sc4tool with the update. Everything starts fine, reads the plugin folder ok. Checked the log file and it says everything is ok. When I click on Load from Database nothing happens. The Order by Name icon comes on but no database loads. Waited 30 minutes and still nothing. If I go to dependencies scanner and click scan nothing happens unless I pick the path from its menu. I checked the path settings and there right on. Is there something I have to do first to make the Analyser/Importer read the path to my plugins first before I click on load from database icon? I thought I looked at every post here and in the help/tut files but didn't see (or maybe missed it) anything. Kira Add - I do have SP2 on XP and did have net frame 2.0 deleted net frame 2 and reistalled 1.1 -
SWAP, SimWings Airport Pack: Support/General Disussion Thread
KiraDarkRose replied to xiziz's topic in SC4 BAT & Lot Workshop
Ok, after playing around i planted every airport peice into a layout and it all worked. However I did find that prior to loading SWAP into the plugin folder I had a few cities saved. When I loaded SWAP and tried to place airport parts in my older saved cities, my city crashed. However I started a new city and have been working on it for a week or so, built an airport and the city works ok. Maybe theres something about adding SWAP to the plugin folder and using it on older saved cities vs starting a new one with SWAP already loaded. I realy don't have any old cities I want to test this idea but maybe someone out there has. Just another thought to zero in on a fix. -
SWAP, SimWings Airport Pack: Support/General Disussion Thread

Well when my city crashed the first time i went in and removed almost all of the plugins but that didn't help. The problem is in the saved city file i think. I'm not sure what files get updated with a save but its more then 1. -
SWAP, SimWings Airport Pack: Support/General Disussion Thread

Since i downloaded SWAP and started building an airport my city crashed also. I restored the computer back to a point before then so as not to loose the city. Everything worked out great and my city was back working. I started again to build an airport making sure it was only airport pieces i was building. I placed a few then exit and save. Tried to reload and all worked ok. Placed a few more airport parts and shut down again. Restarted and all was working still. Did it the third time only using airport parts again but placed maybe a dozen more pieces. When i shut down then restarted again the city crashed. Seems the more puzzle pieces you use or a certain combination of them is causing it to crash maybe. I was building all narrow runways, terminals, tarmacs, hangers, grass, had the freight packing piece down also. Hope this helps in zeroing in on the problem. (Goes to restore computer back 2 hours to get my city back.)
